Guest Anonymous Posted December 30, 2001 Share Posted December 30, 2001 do not buy a gasless machine. Buy a Clarke MIG for $339. It comes with a regulator for that price. All you have to do is rent a tank. I have one of these MIGs in my restoration shop and three at my school. They are well worth the price. Guest Anonymous Posted December 30, 2001 Share Posted December 30, 2001 WELDER- THE REASON FOR USING GAS (NORMALLY 75% CO2 AND 25% ARGON) IS A MUCH SUPERIOR WELD. ALSO, THE FLUX FROM GASSLESS WIRE MUST BE WIRE BRUSHED OFF AFTER WELDING. THE FLUX WILL FLAKE OFF AFTER TIME AND NOT WORK GOOD. ALSO, WHEN WELDING SHEET METAL USE ABOUT .024-.025 WIRE. IF YPU GET A 130 AMP WELDER YOU CAN WELD ALUMINUM SHEET METAL. YOU JUST HAVE CHANGE TO 100% ARGON GAS AND USE ALUMINUM WIRE. IF YOU WANT TO WELD THICKER ALUMINUM. YOU MUST AT LEAST 200 AMP WELDER.
