wolfalp1592
We have a new project car for my son. '82 280zx turbo. Brakes are first to be freshened up. In inspecting the brakes I notice a lug stud needs to be replaced. Great news the seller gave us a parts bin and we have a spare disc assembly but how do you remove the hub from the disc? I have removed the four bolts from the disc to the hub but the hub appears to be pressed in place and may need to be rotated in some direction to remove. Any help? Over time corrosion makes the parts stick together. Soak it in penetrating oil, clamp the rotor in a vice, and the try tapping the hub off with a hammer and a pin punch. You may have to upgrade from tapping to hammering.

JSM
How I do it in the JY. Granted I don't care about the Rotor or bearings: 1. Remove the Caliper 2. Remove the Cap, Cotter, pin and bearings, then pull off the rotor and hub assembly 3. Flip over and remove the rotor bolts completely 4. Place rotor and hub back on car with bearing in place; hand snug the nut 5. 5LB hammer and usually 1 wack and that rotor pops right off I don't know why you can't do the same process, but use a rubber mallet.
