Guest Anonymous
Hey, I'm pretty new to the Z scene, until recently I've had pipe dreams of doing a thirdgen Firebird. I probably still will, later, but right now, I've my sights set on a Z. My question is this, Do these rebody kits I've been hearing so much about replace the old metal body panels, or do they clip and glue on top of them? I would actually consider doing the former, as it would add up to a decent weight savings on an already light car, not to mention a sharp new look, but if we're talking about adding a whole new fiberglass body to the origional, it just doesn't sound like it's worth my money. blueovalz
There is everything from bonded-on, to Remove-and-Replace fiberglass parts for the Z. Lots of choices and sources, and pricing. Just take some time to investigate all your options, 'cause there will be a lot.
Guest nezzie76
I did the Velorossa body kit and I had significant weight savings. I estimate about 300 lbs I took off. The car is quicker, but the suspension rode up about 3 more inches more than it should. Don't forget the mods to the suspension that you will have to make to bring the car back to original heighth.
