280zx turbo swap GAUGES

well i currently am working on a 1980 280ZX 2+2 and undergoing a turbo motor swap. ive aquired a 83 motor, 83 ECU and wire harness, and was looking to update my gauges. now i was hoping to go for the 130mph needle cluster, but it recently has been brought to my attention that the 130mph gauges were only available in the 1979 models (did not know that before). so i was wondering would it be worth getting the 130mph cluster, and would it actually work on a newer setup? would appreciate some help, comments, or maybe even a how to convert if one exist.

you can pull the cluster out without taking out the dash. I just undid the screws and dropped the steering column down a bit and out it comes.

on an 80 and 83.

I JUST took my cluster out of my 83 a couple of days ago. The guages will come out without removing the dash. I am swapping in the 4" Speedhut Revolution GPS Speedo and Tach. I have made a custom back plate to mount the guages in the stock location. If you are interested in going this route, I can cut you a back plate for you while I have all my stuff apart(it would just cost a small fee). I will have pics up when I'm done with the swap.
