Dono Posted August 28, 2010 Share Posted August 28, 2010 So this has been a bit of a struggle and now I could really use some help. My Z is not getting any gas for some reason. I have replaced the fuel pump because that was what the owner said needed to be done to make it run. After that I discovered that there were holes in the gas tank. After that I replaced the spark plugs, air filter and fuel filter. After the car still didn't start I replaced all my hoses thinking I had a vacuum leak, and while replacing hoses I realized that my fuel lines were completely dry. So after that I figured I must have hooked up the wrong wires to the wrong terminals to my fuel pump. But that also did not work. Does anyone have any ideas? please help.... roger.svoboda Posted August 28, 2010 Share Posted August 28, 2010 download the Factory Service Manual from xenon's site (try google search it is wondrous tool). do a search for the fuel injection bible another useful fount of information. put a fuel pressure gage in line between the filter and the rail. fuel pressure should be around 30 pse idle rise to 36 with some throttle. attached is a rig you can make for under $15 to check your fuel pressure. when you get the FSM try reading it putting it under your pillow at night does no good at all. jump a 12 volt hot line direct from battery to fuel pump. don't forget the ground if it runs you will hear it. you should hear it run for a few seconds when you turn the ignition key to on. if the pump is running and delivering pressure to the fuel rail then probably fuel pump relay is a goner ONCE AGAIN READ THE MANUAL Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

19762802+2 Posted August 28, 2010 Share Posted August 28, 2010 I would make sure that your fuel pump is wired correctly, its hooked up to the right hoses, and that your getting power to the pump. I'm almost positive that im not getting power to the pump due to the fact that there wasn't any fuel in the pump or the lines directly connected to the pump when i checked on it. looking more and more like relays in my opinion. am i overlooking anything?
