Guest Anonymous
Hey guys Been too busy to read message board for a while. HICKL the problem with epoxy primers is that theyre very hard to sand ( VERY HARD) although they give an excellent base for paint and stop any rust from coming through. But it will wet sand, rather easily ( No it wont - carls girlfriend.) ( Carl suggests waiting 3 days, we started wet sanding about 4 hours later.) As RacerX suggests putting a urathene primer over a lacquer primer kind of defeats the purpose. But if youve already covered a large area with the lacquer primer (and have finished all body work) you can mix urethene primer with approixmately 15% reducer to make a sealer. Then allow proper drying time, block sand wet, and then apply the urethene primer according to directions. And you should have no problems. DavyZ
BTW, if you want really good "how to" videos, those "Paintucation" ones are very good. I bought the "Color buffing and sanding" video and it was extremely helpful. They are packed with good information and I highly recommend them. Guest Anonymous
Sorry about cutting off before finishing.(girlfriend is getting antsy to leave)I would suggest putting a few drops of dish soap in your water that you use to wet sand.it stops the paper from clogging and it seams to help it cut easier. The brands of paint and finishing products vary from one place to another.I to have never heard of some of the product codes you mentioned. However youll find that in most cases epoxy is epoxy, urethane is urethane ect. Well, have to go girlfriend is getting
