Administrators BRAAP Posted October 19, 2010 Administrators Share Posted October 19, 2010 Ran across this awesome Merc Diesel destined for a BMW E21. Would make for a nice Z powerplant. http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1540777 Putting down 530 HP in a Merc chassis;
MAG58
MMhmm... I love me some OM60x. Same motor as the 606 sans a cylinder. Home grown in the Dodge and freightliner sprinters, fwiw.
Administrators BRAAP Posted October 19, 2010 Author Administrators Share Posted October 19, 2010 So the 6 cylinder version is the same, bore/stroke, chambers/ports/valve-train, injection etc as that 5 cylinder? If so, bring on the
MAG58
Yep. 2.5 605 and 606 are the exact same motor sans a cylinder. The 606 is the motor in that 'driftwagon' from Finland that's been all over the internets. There's also a vido of a 240Z motivated by just such an animal on here somewhere... No that diesel 240z belongs to another friend. =) I don't know is there any end goal. Just trying to get more and more. Should be fast bmw in the future with that engine.
