evildky
I know you guys will think I am nuts and I think maybe I am too but, I am thinking of taking the back half from my 78 from the factory welds and attaching it to the front of my 77 at the factory welds, anyone ever do anything this severe ? the front of the 78 has creased firewall and lower drivers al pillar is pushed in, pans shot, inner front fenders and strut towers toast, back looks good, and the 77 has a quarter that apperas to have been brass brazrd on by a blind man , does not line up at all, this would be partially because the whole package shelf area is pushed about 1/2" forward, so am I completely nuts ? any advice or good info ? Guest Anonymous
Body shops have been doing this joining body halves for years.. a 78 and 77 shop manual with two pages of diagrams and measurements that you could use to get it all back together and in proportion would help. Sounds no more complicated than these brave rengade souls who strip the rust infested Z down and serve it up on a rotisserie and change out about all the body panels.. Happy welding and happy trails.
