If you're going to be making it, which requires welding, why not just weld the adapter onto the manifold itself ala 240hoke?

What part wont fit? The wastegate itself? I can use a bend to the wastegaste pipe and put it anywhere. I've welded steel to cast before and it didn't hold well. I want a good design that will allow the wastegate good flow.

There is very limited space underneath the intake manifold, and underneath that there's the steering linkage to deal with.

 

The manifold is cast steel, not iron, and welds pretty good.

Cast steel welds really nice. What do you think all those fabricated pipe manifolds are made out of? Cast steel weld els.

 

You can get very good boost control buy welding a large tube right where an internal WG would have a hole into the volute of the turbine housing. Give it a little angle for better flow and it will flow enough for even the lowest boost levels.

There are some pictures of my HKS one in there which looks similar to your first picture except the wastegate sits on the side.
