260ruztmachine
I figured most rides that are posted are insanely well built with crazy amounts of time and money spent on them. But mine sure is nothing close to that. I've posted countless topics with retarded questions and ecology junk yard finds. But this time I wanna show case my "$900 GREEN HORNET" Its nothing more and nothing less than a stockish 260 with craigslist add ons $100 headers $90 3 inch exhaust $120 SU's $60 points distributor $40 mechanic fuel pump What I'm getting at, is that I've made myself a decent driving daily driver (minus the body work and paint) I'm looking for your guys and gals' opinion. Two nights ago, or last night? I purchased an intake manifold to do a Holley 390 swap on it. I figured it would be easier, with an electric choke and a single "american" carb it would make my life easier and it would make it more dependable, keeping in mind that I am not a carburetor guru and this is the first car I've layed my hands on and got them greasy and bloody switching out organs and what nots. Performance wise my car is not that bad, I know I probably wouldn't beat half the Z's out there or any mustangs at all( learned that last week) But I sure as hell smoked my bug and my dad's bug (not that I should be bragging about beating a bug) Go for the Holley or stay with the SU's? On a side note, why the FFF does my block have a huge scar on the side of it?? Did the block crack or what?
Zinpieces
Sure looks like somebody welded up a crack in your block, If your compression is OK then you are probably OK. The crack was in the water jacket.
