  1. Thanks Guys,

awesome AWESOME video, great choice of music. Did you manipulate the replay speed of any of that video, or did you manage to synch the music up that well with naturally timed clips? I was amazed how well the song fit the clips as they progressed.

Another question, what is that "cruck" (car/truck) I see twice in the vid?

I sped up some sections and slowed others down. I really like those two Foo songs.

The thing your refering to as a car truck is what we call in Australia a ute, I think it's short for utility vehical. Alot of them are pretty much standard cars witha tray and heavy suspesion at the rear. Some are tricked up to look better like the one below:

  2. Hi Guys,

I've read that different length velocity stacks on triple carbs can change the power band. I'm thinking of using the Ramflo filters I have in a cupboard on my triple Delorotos. Do people usually have the velocity stacks under filters or just bolt on the filter and housing?

  3. Hi Guys,

I've got some tripple Dellorto DHLA carbs coming soon for my L28. I am looking for a suitable manifold and believe the SK tripple inlet manifold to be OK. Does anybody have experience with this manifold?

The biggest concern is finding a linkage kit for tripples, is there a universal linkage kit to fit the SK manifold?

    Thanks,

    Sulio

oh and anybody have a link to a site that sells this type of manifold and accessories?

  4. Hi Guys,

I've just bought some DHLA 40mm triple Dellorto's carbs. I bought them from the Italian fella many have delt with on e-bay. I've asked him to hold off on shipping until I tell him what size chokes I want. The plan is to set these up on a spare N42/N42 L28 I have sitting in the garage. At the moment I have not selected the cam or any other parts so information re motor set up is vague...I hope to instal a mild cam and want some general info on what set up this carbs would work with, just a rough idea to minimise the amount of money I'll have to spend when it comes time to tune these carbs.

    I'm thinking about requesting one of the following two set ups for the 40's I just bought based on some of the info found on the many threads I have read through here;

    30mm chokes

    7548.3 aux venturi

    7772.11 emulsion tubes

    130 mains

    180 air correctors

    57 idles

    42 pumps

    or

    32mm chokes

    7772.3 emulsion tubes

    135 mains

    210 air correctors

    45 idles

    55 pumps

Opinions? Would 30mm chokes be too small?

  5. I'm pretty sure the wide ones go at the back. Be sure to get the two rear ones on the correct side. Just look side on and you'll notice the difference. The "fatter" part needs to face forward, very easy to confuse if you don' t look carefully as I mounted them opposite the first time. I'm pretty sure the pics below show em mounted the wrong way round, its been a while but you have to put them on and look very closely.

  6. Mason, the fella that made them is selling the occasional set but I have'nt got the patience to paint up any more sets.

Hi Evan, yer just find some matt coloured black contact and use a steel ruler if you want to cut stripes. But if you want to cut out letters then cut out the contact sheets to A4 size and find the font you want to use on any word processor you use and invert the font to print backwards so you can print out what ever you would like on the reverse side of the contact. Once you've done that just cut out what you have printed and it will look very proffesional. So you could have say DATSUN across your front windscreen!?

  7. Thanks guys. A little tip, I bought some book covering adhesive in black that we call "contact" here in Oz for about $2.00. My plan was to make up these mock stripes just to get an idea before I buy the "good" stuff. Funny thing is I applied that material and it has'nt aged or come off when washing the car and I've used high pressure washers at the local car wash. Admitedly its not an every day driver but still for $2.00 you can't go wrong. I tried peeling a section off once being curious as to the condition of paint underneath and it was fine so I kept the stickers on!

The next problem was getting those FairladyZ badges, luckily a freind had some steel ones, so I got him to make up a mould and he made some out of plastic resin and made the badges at home which I later painted up with model paint! Amazing what you can acheive by just using a bit of lateral thought when it comes to Z cars!:-D

  8. Yer just gotta paint them your self thats the pain.

Well I've had the red front airdam for some time now and I've decided to go black and another style, like the SR240 car has. Sold my current airdam and bought a polyeurathane one with the airvents, gonna paint it black asap to match the flares. My stocker 240 below that I'm sad to say I had to sell a couple of months ago:(

Hypertek get in touch with (ZR240) Ashleigh if your after a set of those FAIRLADY badges.

  9. Hey buster, I do like that clean look but as I said there is that raised face on the rear fin that is clearly meant for a badge of some sort. So I got a freind to make me up 3 fairladyZ badges, 1 for the rear and one for to replace the DATSUN badge on each side. I got them fresh out of the moulds today and gave them some paint in original colours when I got home.
