  1. Dam that sucks. From the looks of it that was a nice car too. My mustang just got totalled by some idiot driving with epelepsy who had a cesure and turned left in front of me. Whats with this week.
  2. I was thinking if I did it over, I'd get a 89ish camaro with a t5, convert it over to carburation, get it running right, and then pull it and put it in my z. I bought a rebuilt long block 350 and a rebuilt WC t5. That alone cost 2 grand. Let alone the starter, water pump, alternator, ect. and beleive me it adds up.
  3. just an update. sticking with the dual plane. got the T5. waiting for the bellhousing to get here. I saw a guy at a carshow here in Burbank CA, he had a z with a LT1 and a T5 I talked to him for a little bit, he was in a hurry. the car was burgandy, it was in perfect condition lowered, disks in the back. Is that anyone on hybridz.
  4. so really all of us in CA except for the lucy 70 or 71s "should" have the all emmsions crap.
  5. I'm building mine in CA and if you have a 75 or older your in the clear there was the rolling 30 years and now they stopped it at 75. Correct me if I'm wrong.
  6. I found a website that says the cr in a stock 350 block .30 over and 79cc heads= 8.8:1 It also says that an engine with a similar setup as me (882 heads, performer intake, headers, Q-jet, and RV cam) makes 285 hp at 4500 rpm. This guy could be wrong but that would be sweet. This is the #3 engine http:/vettworks.com.tripod.com/combo.html
  7. A 1000cc shifter cart would be crazy. I was thinking about using a FWD car like a civic, cutting off the back half of the car, building a sandrail frame in front of the engine. with an automatic tranny I think it would work. Now if I could just get some more money......
  8. I dont know if this is how all small blocks are but the cylinders are flat exept for notches cut for the valves. The heads have a 79cc chamber, I have no idea how to calculate comp ratio
  9. I went to the G-force website and it says they arn't making T5s anymore, propably wont need one for now but down the line I'd like it to be an option
  10. hey thanks for the link to the headers, I decided to get the coated ones though. I have a choice a taller single plane and a shorter dual plane. If I can get a new cam I definatly will get the single. The mechanics that are helping me are chevelle (3500 pounds) guys and its understandable that they said go withe the RV cam and the dual plane, but I'll call around and ask about the cam.
  11. those headers say the dont work for most angle plug heads. what does that mean
  12. havn't posted here very much but have been looking at forums for awhile and have read my JTR book about ten times over. Last weekend I picked up my engine, its a 350 2 bolt main with a mild "RV" cam (.429/.429" lift, 288/288 adv dur) and 882 heads with some porting done and hardened valve seats. Next weekend im picking up my transmission, a world class T5 and I've had my JTR parts for a while. I know this isn't much but I am 16 with a 16 year old's paycheck. I think I've saved enough money. I have a couple of expeirienced mechanics helping me out. This week I am hoping to pull the L28 and got most of it disconnected today. Fun stuff. If you guys could tell me from experience how much I can expect out of the 350 it would be cool.
  13. i would also be interested in 302 mounts 73 240Z cheap 302 250-350hp
