  1. Ive spent too many hours with limited success. It has been running rough the last few weeks with extreme loss of power. I tore the carbs apart cleaned them and put them back on and tuned them. Most power has returned but still running rough. The air flow is ballanced, im at 1 and 7/8 turns mixture, both float bowls appear to be working the same. Heres where the issue lies im sure: When i press on the piston lift button on the back carb (making it only run on the front carb) it lowers slighly in rpm and runs a little rough. That means the front carb is tuned correcly from my understanding. BUT when i do the same on the front ( making it run only on the back carb) it stalls out right away. From what i have read this means its lean. Currenly both carbs are at the same mixture but i have taken it all the way to 3.5 turns and it does the same thing. Any ideas?
  2. Works Great! Like some one said you get sick/high in the process. Invest in a paper mask at least. I took everything down to bare metal; zinc coated it, and then applied the bed liner. I also suggest getting a few rollers. I only got one and it was toast after just the passenger floorboard. You don’t have to but I must say the part where the roller was still new has a better texture. If your carpeting it though, it doesn’t matter I guess. BTW my car is for sale on ebay, if anyones intrested http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1974-Datsun-260Z-Restored-Low-Miles-Great-Condition_W0QQitemZ4646897721QQihZ002QQcategoryZ6187QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Wheres choice for Yellow with Black stripes? lol nvm i wanna be one of the few Id go with Pearl Black if you are have some serious prep work done(black shows all waves). If not id say go with the topaz blue.
  6. Looks more like an ugly porshe then a Z now, just my opinion though
  7. yellow with black stripes!!! nvm i wanna be the only one I vote solid black with pin striping/ racing stripes.
  8. yea i noticed too. It is somewhat the pic but somewhat there for real. The pic makes it look much worse then it really is. In person i dont think its worth goin though the whole mess of redoing it.
  9. I did 200 (for bondo spots) then 400 all over then 600. I sprayed primer on each section i was working on. If your going to be painting the car yor self i cant help you beyond that prep work. But if your sending it out to a shop to paint then a good 600 all over to take out any chips or pits is good enough.
  10. hopefully a local guy i know has a old 240 bumper for cheep-free and thatll go along with everything else to get painted black. If not im lookin at the MSA fiberglass one.
  11. well half and half...Stuff like the trim inbetween the layers of rubber around the windshield and hatch will stay crome. But i think im going to have the door handles and the door trim (all the ez removable pices)painted black when i finshed making my custom grill and it goes to get painted.
  12. 2550.60...my first check i ever wrote! Yea i did most of the body work but i had them do a little bit of final body work cause i couldnt take it any more i was going crazy. Yea Its a ritch area and all the kids are driving brand new cars their parents bought them, so the only way i could complete was buying a a cheep POS Z and fixing it up. Now even all the kids who got their cars for free are jelous. It makes my years worth of work 110% worth while.
  13. What kind of places will widen them? Like Tirekingdom ect? How much dose that kinda work cost? So Konig is the cheepest huh i guess ill start there then. and the link you posted isnt working ATM
  14. I think i understand what your talking about, but that would cause all that air to get traped in that front area infront of the radiator causeing "drag" (maybe not the right word for up front) wouldnt it?
  15. I know nothing about wheels and dont know where to start. Im trying to find some wheels that look just like this... http://www.zcarparts.com/store/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=25-1067&Category_Code=WWC19 But fake and cheeper and really wide. I donno if they even make something like that its just an idea. Id like some REALLY wide tires in the back and i love the look of that tire. Can anyone help me out? Or point me in the right direction?
