  1. Excellent.

Sounds like a good way to go.

As I had interjected earlier, with respect to racing teams, There is always a program, and a head of program. Thoes that wish to participate do so.

I personally have not heard of a "democratic" race team.

Doc. Are you going to start a race build thread/forum for thoes that wish to join? With help, do you think that next summer is a possibility?

  2. Just my $.02' date=' but I think hind sight is clouding some peoples judgement who would have reacted similarly.[/quote']

Seriously, from me it's not hindsight clouding my judgment.

It's past experience from which I judge for I have at one time acted similarly.

Ones first reaction is to think "who the hell does he think he is"?

Thing is, you DONT know who the hell he is!

Dont jack with a mad stranger when he has his auto armor on!

Besides we wouldn't want to wrinkle the beloved Z car. Would we?

  3. I'm curious, what did I do wrong? Apparently this is my fault somehow that a crazy ***** tried to run me over on the road.

First off, let me say that I have been through this like you did. I did as you did, so dont think I am being an ass.

You certainly seem like a decent person so I can assume that you arent an ass either.

Yes, when you passed the "gater" on the right, harmlessly, it was the "trigger". He was so intent on making the person in the left lane, which is the fast lane so it must have belonged to him, move over, teach a lesson about riding in "his" lane. He was pissed that you had snuck pass him in his intent to teach the other guy.

Then it was your turn. Simply that. It is natural to be pissed. Hitting your brakes, downshifting so as not to trigger your brake lights. Yea, that will calm him down!!

The second you started the brake check is where you stepped into the wrong zone.

Put it this way, every one knows that pedestrians have the right of way right? Basic traffic law. Step out infront of a speeding maniac as a pedestrian...your dead right of way or not. Yes? You would be in the right, but you would be dead.

You may have had the right to be pissed, but not the right to elevate the situation.

If you dont want to play that way, bring a gun, soon you will need it. Promise.

  4. The Cheezy theme is quite appropriate.

    Left me pretty much speachless.

At least there isn't any thing I can think to say that would not be censored.

We'll just say that it looks as if someone threw a cheese grenade on the poor Cutlass. There that wasn't so bad!

  5. Yep, yep.

My bad. I told you I was confused:mrgreen:

    I'll slink away now. Sorry.

The 280ZX was a complete redesign, retaining only the L28 engine and other driveline components. A turbo option was introduced, bringing the 280ZX's stock performance above the level of the original 240Z for the first time.

The 280ZX shared the Nissan 510's platform and suspension, with MacPherson struts in front and trailing arm independent rear. The wheelbase was down from its predecessor at just 91.3 in, and a 2+2 version was offered as well.

The 280ZX was branded in the American market as the Datsun 280ZX.

A turbocharged model (L28ET engine rated at 180 hp) was introduced in 1981. In the US market it was initially available with a 3-speed automatic transmission. In 1982 and 1983, the 280ZX Turbo was also available with a Borg-Warner T-5 5-speed manual transmission (this was the first Nissan which used a non-Japanese transmission; the T-5 was also used in the GM F-bodies and Ford Mustang).

  6. Very clean ride!

    The color says it all.

Bought it as a present you say?

Did the previous owner die or something? I would not have parted with it!

    Welcome....

  7. Fine example Doc.

A quality, purpose built, project is what its all about. And thats truly regardless of the racing genera. It's about representation and pride.

The car/site deserves that type of representation.

One project or more, I'll support a project of this caliber.

Any other projects with this caliber potential?

  8. When I was working in the eighties for a company called Classic Aircraft. The aircraft that we were building was of the tubing, bulkhead and fabric.

The fuselage main structure is molly tubing. If one didn't know and saw one stripped, you would think it was an antennae tower. A braced tube structure.

During welding the mech will drill a hole to any tube that will cause closer of the adjacent tube assembly. When comeplete, the fusalage assembly is placed on a stand and pumped with linseed and rotated. It is then drained and a weld bead plaed at the entry and exit holes.

I didn't engineer the process but it was part of the Blue Print.

  9. Where is the money going to come from that you speak of?

I think that we are speaking of members who would wish to donate.

My statements were geared to suggest that a sponsorship fund could include the site it'self. If persons wish to promote the Z Car experience, the site (Hybrid Z) does that as well.

  10. Interesting thoughts quicker240.

It is easy math to see that a few hundred folks that are sponsorship friendly tossing in a five dollar bill into a fund that was properly managed could go a long way in promoting our beloved Zs.

Be nice if it worked that way. It certainly could.

Site support has a need as well. Any though to site support being part of a sponsor program. That would also keep with the no subscription required mind set that Dan has maintained and leave the funds issue to the givers on a continued voluntary basis. Sponsorship would go towards event and site support. Two birds, one stone.

  11. HybridZ itself (the "entity" known as HybridZ) has no spare change. All the money it receives from the members goes into deferring the costs Dan bears - hardware' date=' software, bandwidth, etc. So when you guys say, "HybridZ should sponsor X", what HybridZ are you referring to?

    1. The entity known as HybridZ.

    2. The Administrative staff of the entity known as HybridZ.

    3. SuperDan.

    4. The community of members gathered at a web site with the URL: http://www.hybridz.org

    5. something else...

    Remix...

Number four. With the blessing of number three. Under the ever watchful eyes of number two.
