  1. I had a bad one to but I found a complete door for $80 that was a little rusty. Internals were good though. Just an idea.

Good idea but I've already bought a pair of doors from the states

Sept they came bare as thats all I wanted at the time

As I now want the glass runners aswell I rather not pay them shipping costs again lol

  2. Both of the front door window runners have rotten on my 78 260z 2 seater (same as your 280z I believe)

So does anyone know if the runners simply undo and slide off from the bottom of the door glass?

Or am I likely to break the glass if I try to remove the metal runner?

btw, Reason I ask is I'm struggling to find any in the uk

So might be easier if I buy a good used pair from the states?

  3. If you are willing to spend the $$ on shipping I'm sure you can source one from there.

You could search UK boards but, parts seem harder to find there.

Some parts command crazy money, yet others aren't worth jack !

I was quoted up to £500 !! for a pair of 260z/ 280z doors here in the uk

btw, yes that's uk pounds not dollars!

Yet the same 2 doors from the usa cost me a fraction of that price, but the shipping was stil crazy money.

Still it was worth me buying the same doors from other there. (yours)

Shipping can be a killer but prov the price can be kept low it could work out ok

  4.

GTR RB26DETT "RB26" Intake manifolds are very different from RB25 manifolds

    They do not interchange

  5. Just make sure you get a good TB as I have not heard good things about the cheap China Knock-Offs.

Well I've gone for one of those cheapies

Looks good and seems to fit well

80mm and bolts straight onto the plenum without need for an addaptor or mods

Should save some room now ?

  6. Cheers for the pics, thats a great help

I see the main water union on that plenum has been welded in aswell

It looks the same as the one I bough from the states (I couldn't find one here at the time)

I went for one that came with the tbh addaptor kit, tho that needs to be machined flat before it can be used

Think mine was cast from a block of wonky cheese tho lol

  7. Maybe someone has a damaged 260z or a 280z that is being pulled apart?

If so I need a rear panel section cut from the shell

As far as I know the 260z and 280 is the same panel ?

Please let me know if otherwise

As outlined in red in the below pics I need the section cut that holds the rear lights in place

i.e the rear panel but dont need the "lower" valance part as such

My panel is rotten under the rear slam panel, so the donor part needs to be a good rot free section

Clicky pics to show section required

If you can help pm me your price

If you have a new one even better !

    cheers

  8. you can run the large VH45 throttle body

I've had a look at pics of a Q45 throttle body but they look a bit chunky?

So my plan was to use one of those simple smaller aftermarket throttle bodies?

    80 or 90mm maybe ?

Not having seen either in the flesh it makes it harder to be sure

But they look a better bet?

  9. WE modify them for more fender inter panel clearance.

Cut off flange and weld on at new angle....

    Thats what I'm thinkin

If you was a little closer I might just pop in to see whats what

I guess it also depends on what throttle body is used aswell?

Esp as the std housing has those sticky out bits that must get in the way ?

btw, your RB engine mount kit fitted a treat

  10. So I can use a greedy style inlet plenum on an RB25

Does the throttle body flange of the plenum deffo need modding to allow the tbh to clear the inner wing? (260z)

Is so anyone got any pics to show what angle it needs re-setting at?

btw, I would offer it up myself but my cars in the body shop without an engine, so not so simple

  11. Asked this on the uk forum but no deffo answer so asking you guys

Can someone confirm if the 240, 260 and poss your later 280z 2 seater outer rear qarter panels are the same and can interchange?

i.e if you was just to use the outer skin

I know the v early 240 had a diffo door latch mech and the "inner" petrol flap area hole is diffo

Not sure if its just the retainer hole/neck ring thats diffo or not?

(Think your 280 was diffo around the bumper side area to the uk cars)

But was the main outer quarter skin the same between the 3?

    Anyone fitted a 240 quarter to a 260 or even 280z without issue ?

  12. Maybe someone has a damaged 280z or one that being pulled apart?

If so I need a small body section cut from the passengers side B post area from a 280z shell (77/78)

Not sure if a late 260z is the same ?

As outlined in the pic I need the section cut that holds the door striker in place

(mine is rotten so needs to be rot free)

Would need to be cut approx 6" above and 6" below of the striker

Clicky pic to show section required

    th_bodycut.jpg

I believe its hollow behind that striker area so shouldn't be too bad to cut.

If you can help pm me a price

    cheers

  13. Would 100% recommend him

I've just bought 2 280z doors and frames from him

Excellent price that saved me a packet in the uk !

He even helped me have them shipped to the uk and dropped them off to the shipper

Doors arrived pronto and are in fact better condition then I assumed they could be

Deffo a top guy and would buy again !
