  1. I just mounted my flares the other day and the american racing 14's I have arent going to cut it. I had some 18's from another car and I set the in the fender wells flush with the flares and fell in love. It did look like a little less tire then I would like so I decided a 17 is what I want. Im on a bit of a budget for wheels (ole lady) So I was looking at getting this combination one of these wheels: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/17-RIM-WHEELS-5-LUG-ACCORD-CELICA-ECLIPSE-NEON-CIVIC-TC-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem563fd550ffQQitemZ370438131967QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories or http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/17-WHEEL-RIM-5X114-3-TALON-ECLIPSE-ACCORD-TL-CL-S2000-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem4cf2073081QQitemZ330478071937QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories In compliance with these adapters: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/4-LUG-5-LUG-ADAPTER-KIT-4x108-114-3mm-TO-5x114-3mm-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem43a1d36dfcQQitemZ290477796860QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories Would this combination put me close to the edge of the fender flares? Thanks for your help! I have a stock suspension and will be cutting coils to lower a little once wheels are found.

Well I would like to get a 16 inch wheel instead of the 14's. If I could just sell my current setup I would.

I am looking for some rims and tires to fill my flares up. As you can see, the american racing wheels on the car now do fill the stock fenders well. They will need new tires, good for the summer yet. I am located in IL, I would also be willing to through in my current rims as a partial or straight trade. Here are my wheels: I also have many other Z parts that I can wheel and deal with like: center consol, early thin chrome bumpers, etc...
  6. Well I doubt I ever get asked that since I've seen 2 other z's around here my whole life ha. Also, I would love to absolutley slam the car, but not sure what means I can afford. Flares and spoiler should arive in the mail next week
  7. Thanks, makes the hard work seem like it has paid off when I'm not the only one that thinks its coming together quite nicely.
  8. Here is a bit more of an update, The bumper will be molded onto the car and the fender opening sides of the bumper will be cleaned up as well. Let me know how you feel about how it is coming along, I will be keeping this thread updated untill paint is sprayed. Flares are in the mail along with the bre rear spoiler. The car will be sprayed with Dark Shadow Grey from Ford with a satin black stripe running down the middle.
  9. Block sanding with 400 grit paper then priming the car is not the only steps you will need. The cars that you see in primer that you like are ones that are straight and ready for paint. Priming a dented and rusty car will only make the car look worse imo. Maybe your car is clean excluding the chips and cracks in the paint but if not I would advise fixing ALL problem areas.
  10. You can always check the forsale threads here, craigslist and ebay. I have an extra in pretty good shape but im in IL.
  11. I plan to cut out and area for the grill I pictured which should be more than enough airflow. I will need to make some bracket system as you mentioned to avoid folding.
  12. It is in no condition to be ready for a picture as revealing as a side shot haha. Once I continue the wheel well into it, it should look really nice. I positioned it so the bottum of the bumper is level with the rockers of the Z.
  13. I picked up a 1975 datsun 280z awhile ago. It had no front bumper but I just so happend to have a Cerins polyuerathane Cobra R bumper that I found hiding at my local scrap yard. I posted some pictures to see if someone would photoshop the Cobra bumper to a 280z. Like I anticipated I was flammed by most replys. I understood in the long run bc I realized not everyone can picture something unless its right in front of them, and this did sound like a crazy idea. So now I have worked down the R bumper and here was my first test fit to the Z to see how it would look Just like I thought, the bumper will be blocking alot of airflow to the radiator. Then I remembered that I had the Z original grill. In the picture the grill is upside down. I dont want the whole middle section of the bumper to be removed, so I figure I'll cut 2-3 horizontal bars offthe Z grill and shorten it a bit in width to look like \___/ Then I'll cut that section from the top of the R bumper. Opinions, comments and questions are all welcome. The Z will be painted Dark Shadow Grey with the cowl on the hood satin black.
  14. Any help would be great, I'm ready to drop in the engine just not sure what I can do about getting the fuel to it.
  15. I picked up a '75 280 that had the motor pulled but a 5 spd trans still bolted up under the car. I have a 260 motor that had an auto trans attached, but im sticking w/ the 5 spd trans (of course) along with staying with the carbs. My questions are: 1.) What can I do about the efi fuel pump, bc i have read its too much pressure but wasnt able to find a solution in the search 2.) Any other things i may need for the swap or need to watch out for?
  16. Would a 17x8 wheel fit if it has a 15mm offset without any spacers?
  17. Those adapters are 2 inches and thats where im wondering if they will push the wheels out past the flares. If those adapters do push the tires out past the flairs, they make the second set of wheels in a 4 lug pattern also, then could I just go with a smaller spacer. Thanks agian for any help.
  18. My 280z went into the body shop last night. I am wanting to look into my wheel options to really set it off when its done in the shop. I will have the zg flares and I am wondering if I used the following set up if it would a.) fit and b.) get somewhere close to the edge of the flares. Wheels: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/17-Fits-Mustang-bullitt-Rims-tires-black-bullet-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQitemZ380256905499QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories Wheel option 2: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/17-x9-10-Black-fit-Mustang-Morxchn-cobra-Rims-tires-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQitemZ290461392867QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories Adapters: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/NEW-4-5-LUG-WHEEL-RIM-ADAPTER-KIT-FORD-MUSTANG-79-93-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQitemZ290456625112QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories Any help would be much appreciated.
