  1. Maybe I'll see you at the next ZCCNE rally in the spring. I will plan to attend unless my motor blows up...lol
  2. Yeah mine is garaged as well, although I have been taking it out on tuning runs due to the dry weather lately.
  3. most places up here don't wake up until spring kinda like hibernation...lol
  4. Did you join this past year? I went on one of their rallys and it was pretty fun. I think they have a club car for racing too.
  5. Yeah and my laptop broke it's connection so I have no log of it. I was using Matrix mode on the Microtech my friend with hi RX-7 said to use normal mode. I'll try that and keep an eye on the AFR...I had to much excitement feeling the power of the Z under boost for the first time, and didn't watch my AFR...for shame
  6. Cool, I'm actually closer to Worcester. I think you are close to New Paltz which is a cool town, good rock climbing. I was going to join the zzcne (http://www.zccne.org/) ,but my car has been out of comission the past year until now. Good to see a Z in the NorthEast.
  7. are you selling the hand controller separate? Did you buy their turbo timer...I might be interested in those...list what you have.
  8. At idle I am at 13-14 then under load it is 9-10, but when the popping/coughing happened I didn't get to see the AFR numbers, it probably was starved for fuel.
  9. Just looking for local members...I'm in the Boston area.
  10. Nice job Mike, very clean...I like the gauges on the outside, are they waterproof? Did decide to ditch the Microtech?
  11. You mean a collasping vaccum line might be my problem? My main intake pipes are pretty solid. Would a low amount of fuel at high RPM's cause this phenomenon?
  12. if it was surging than to much flow to the intake? Maybe add more fuel at the higher RPMs.
  13. I am new to the boost game as I have just done a turbo swap, but was wondering if you guys know what the problem might be. As my motor boosts up around 10psi-15psi the motor bucks and then the blowoff valve goes off. It feels like maybe one of my vaccum lines to the wastegate collapses and then releases. The wastegate has an 8 psi spring and I am using silicone tubing...maybe I need thicker walled stuff. I have a garrett GT35RBB Turbo, external wastegate, standalone ecu etc... any ideas?
  14. I am using the Microtech LT12 with six coil setup. It wires into your stock components and comes preloaded with the factory setup. It should start up and get you running pretty quickly. I was also looking at Haltech and Electromotive...but this one seemed easier for me to work with. It also came prewired for my car from Microtech with nice schematics and labeled harness.
  15. I can't imagine a fuel pump would load down the circuit to the starter. You could run 12V to the fuel pump power to see if it will turn on. Maybe you have a bad starter solenoid.
  16. I think you need it to communicate...If you have the hand controller you must be able to access the same settings...you may have to set down with it for a while to get used to it...to bad they don't have a simulator program.
  17. Well the 280zxt wheel I thought didn't have the larger hole for TDC...if you could find someone with a Z31 CAS then you could get the exact measurements...but you are right you do want the proper measurements if you are planning on cutting a custom hole. Maybe next time you are at the junkyard you could take a rubbing of the Z31 disk if you are going that route...or just buy it for $50
  18. on this web site it is the white plug adapter next to the CD http://www.microtech-efi.com/product/14.html
  19. As for the communication...do you have the black interface module that the serial cable plugs into? This I think is how it communicates with the Microtech through the laptop.
  20. You are probably getting way to much fuel from the injectors...it is probably set up for the factory setting. I had the same problem with my 555cc injectors...if you go to the setting for Mixtrm on screen 30 you will have to reduce that value, which will perform a blanket reduction over the entire fuel map. The motor should start to smooth out as the mixture leans out.
  21. that sound about right, just make sure you install the disk topside up..you will know if it is wrong. If you try to line up TDC with the disk upside down the dizzy should be out of alignment or in a funny position.
  22. im not getting 12 volts out of my white wire on my 280zx dizzy with Z31 turbo disk... im also not getting any spark out of my microtech so im all messed up mike I thought the voltage to the Dizzy from the Microtech was around 5 volts...not sure if you will get 12 out of the white wire. Are you sure the LT8 is configure properly? I can check mine when I get a chance...keep plugin away at it hopefully it is something simple.
  23. I think they both have the same disk with the same sensor...my 280zx NA had the same sensor but the wrong disk...not sure about the Z31 NA I got a Z31 turbo disk and am using it on my NA 280zx dizzy with original sensor. As long as there is a wider slot for TDC the ECU will know it is number one. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
