  2. Lookin for a Z for the gf, price range is up to $3,000. Needs A/C, dosent need to be workin, ill fix that. But auto is a necessity! DD worthy as well. Pm if anything! Thanks!
  3. I have a 1983 280ZX that is my DD. The ZX has 2' Tokico Lowering springs and shocks, and polyurethane suspension bushings. It has a cold air intake, and i removed the muffler. I still have the stock airbox, and muffler as well. Has a new Exedy clutch and pressure plate, and a resurfaced flywheel. New trans fluid, diff. Fluid, and i just did the oil. Its been an extremely reliable car, but i want another 240! E-mail or give me a call at 760-218-6271. Thatninekid@yahoo.com will post pics later.
  4. I Just picked up an 83 280ZX. its in pretty good shape, paid 1000 for it, but its got its problems. i need it as a DD, so i have to get em addressed. the #6 injector leaks a bit, im assuming thats an o-ring, or the whole injector. its got a small exhaust leak, but a new exhaust. thatll be fixed soon. the digital dash its got is kinda effed up though. the temp. reads that its spiked all the time, but its got a new water pump and thermostat. i have no idea what it could be. im still new to Z's. the odometer and speedometer dont work, the odometer dosent cycle, and the speedomter stays at 0. the warning light is always red, but idk where to start there, either. the rear diff. clunks, which ive diagnosed as a bad bushing. the suspension had already been gone through by the P/O, with Tokico lowering springs and Polyurethane bushings throughout. i cant seem to find a poly. replacement for the diff. bushing though. when im sitting at idle, i can hear a bit of a grinding noise, and when i depress the clutch, it fades away. the sounde comes from just under the radio, so im assuming the clutch? i hear aftermarket clutches can make noise, but again, im not sure. and lastly, last night i took it out, and if i put on the brights, they stay on. if i wiggle the indicator switch, it dosent help, but it will sometimes. the dash lights dont work, and idk if thats a fuse, or....? as i was leaving a friends, the headlights dimmed and went back on, then dimmed again and went back on. i went to make a right turn, and the right signal is fast-blinking, and i have no idea where to start there. i know i just typed a novel, but i am still new to Z cars and thier temperments. im only 19 and im still learning, so help with this would be greatly appreciated. thanks! ill post pics soon.
  5. My new project: 1971 240Z. 280Z is for sale nao!

  8. I'm looking for some dual Weber carbs to install on my 71 240Z. id like to take the SU's off, they arent the greatest. :/ anyone know? thanks!
  9. gahhh. that makes me sad! someone should still try and get it....:/
  10. holy ****....it had more to it when i saw it...but then again, i saw it in the back before it was put out there to be scavenged. i at least hope the parts went to some good cars. someone should get it still!
  11. i cant make it out there anytime soon. my funds are dry, and i cant make it to Fontana. its either my Z, which still needs some fine tuning, or my truck, which drinks diesel like its going out of style. :/
  12. dosent matter. used,id figure. cause its cheaper.
  13. Well, I'd need the whole thing. The car I bought is complete, minu the interior door panels. It's just bare. And yea, I'm looking for black. :/
  14. It's looks like someones abondoned project. It's sanded down a bit, and you can tell someone had been working on it. Maybe they had to give it up, but it's in good shape. And it's in the junkyard. I could only wish they were selling it like that. You can buy the car, I think they wanted 500 er something. And I have looked at the telltale things that it's a 70, and it is! Someone save it! those bastards crush it like it's nothing. There was a good condition 240Z at a local Ecology, and sadly, my friend and I found it's crushed remains....it's horrible.
  15. I am in need of interior door panels for my 1971 240Z. If you or anyone have any available, PM me please! thank you.
  16. I went to the Ecology auto parts yard in Fontana, and discovered an early 1970 240Z. it looks to be rust free, and the drivetrain complete. it needs the front fenders, valence, grille, etc. its basically a shell with a motor. the rear bumper is intact and in amazing shape, along with a near-perfect steering wheel. somebody save this rare Z. if i didnt have my 240 right now, id do it myself! im going back there tomorrow, so ill take pics.
  17. Hey! i'm new to this site, and i was hoping i could get help as i build my Z. When i bought it a couple weeks back, i got it for $1000. and it ran. sweet! my buddy drove it 20 miles, till a fuel line sprung a leak. had it towed the rest of the way. once it was in his garage, (no space at my place yet.) we replaced the fuel lines, cleaned the injectors as best as we could, and drove it a bit. it rattled horribly. come to find out, the drivers front wheel was barely held on. got everything tightened up, and it drives well! then, we pulled off the park bench bumpers, and then replaced the valve cover gasket and cleaned up the head a lil bit. we ran sea-foam through the engine, and changed the oil. it runs well, just a bit of lifter knock. We later found an exhaust leak where the manifold meets the block, and right behind the muffler. have yet to get that changed. to date as of now, it needs the brakes bled, clutch fluid changed, coolant flush, and new tires. I'm fixing the car for my girlfriend to drive, so we've started to deal with the rust. ill put pics up tomorrow of the other areas. i would like to have some tips while i fix the car, and what else to expect. Sorry for the long explanation....i'm new. Now, here's some pics! (haven't taken many yet...>.<) Where it is now.... damn rust.... Behind the lower fender....(on the passenger side) I hope to learn from your experiences with your Z cars, and make mine almost as beautiful as some of yours! If you can help at all, feel free to let me know what to do! im new to all this. Thanks for looking!
  18. Just picked it up two weeks ago. My first Z. i've wanted one since i was 12. im 18 now, so it didnt take too long. lol. First thing i did once i got it home was remove the park benches!
