I'm trying to determine the best places for my oil pressure and oil temp senders on my RB26. I am using the Grex cooler plate below and I am figuring to place the temp sender on the "out" side. Can I "tee" into this side and get pressure as well or is there a better location? Senders are 1/8NPT with 1/4, 3/8, 1/2 adapters. The Grex plugs are M18x1.5.
Any help is greatly appreciated, thank you in advance!
RB26DETT coolant routing questions.
The basics:
No heater.
Grex remote oil cooler/thermostat plate.
Do 1 and 2 have to be connected if I'm deleting the heater and running a thermostat plate? Is there a way for the coolant from the rear to get to the neck internally? Can 1 and 2 be blocked?
If they must be connected, what is a good size tubing or hose to use?
Single Turbo Swap Plumbing Greddy T78.
Greddy T78, non-water cooled, non-BB. External wastegate...will these work?
#1 oil return from turbo - 3/4BSP or 3/4NPT? Is 12AN too big for an oil drain?
#2 oil supply to turbo - M12x1.0 to 4AN? Do I need a restrictor for non-BB?
#3 oil return from turbo - Blocked.
#4 water from turbo. - Not needed for non-water cooled turbo?
#5 boost pressure - To external wastegate?
#6 sense line from turbo inlet to boost pressure control solenoid - To boost controller?
#7 water to turbo - Blocked on non-water cooled turbo?
Thanks in advance!
I actually found that answer in another thread by this threads OP...a few more questions:
I'm currently planning to run a Greddy T78 (that could change), could I just come out of #2 with an adapter to 4 AN line into the turbo?
What size fitting is #1?
I know what you mean about the "while I'm at it" state of mind, that's where I'm at...plus, I just sold the N1, so I might as well "go big or go home" I found a good deal on the JUN, might just go that route.
Thanks for the input!
What I meant by "cosmetic" was the video...in the video, they just show the backing plate differences...they don't go into much detail about the performance aspects.
out of curiosity, I know you said "normal street driving"...but do you know exactly what they were doing when the pumps gave out? Were they launching, high RPM's etc?
I haven't heard any bad about the JUN, but I found a YouTube video showing the physical differences
but if doesn't go into much detail otherwise.
Haven't heard too much bad about Greddy or HKS, but the price of the HKS (higher than Tomei from what I've found) makes me think it should never fail, which is not the case (not sure about the "new design:)
I'm just debating whether $1100USD for a JUN is worth the sacrifice against a $1455USD Tomei for a street car with light track duty.
Pic request: installed Tomei oil baffle
looking for pics of Tomei oil pan baffles installed, putting an RB26 into my S13 and I had to modify the oil pan (similar to the pics below) and I'd like to see if it'll fit or if I'll have to modify it in some way.
Thanks in advance!
I've done a lot of research and reading and decided after putting new rods and pistons as well as other mods that'll hold up to higher power levels and rpms, I want a top of the line oil pump as well...if I had stayed closer to OEM, I'd be more than happy with my N1...a lot of high HP cars run em, I just don't want to chance it.
