  1. RB26DETT: Tomei Oil Pump I bought an N1 pump preparing for a stock rebuild, my build has exceeded the N1. I need a Tomei pump. Nengun has them for $1467USD shipped. I am in the US, shipping will be to Hanover Pa, 17331. If you can beat the price or know a supplier that does, leave me a message! PS - if anyone bought a Tomei and didn't go all-out, I'd be willing to trade the N1 for $175USD off the cost of the Tomei, or sell it for $175 outright. PPS - I want a new Tomei.
  2. RB26DET: Oiling system questions. The car: 1992 USDM, LHD, S-13 Silvia/240SX R32 RB26DET RWD converted via RB25DET transmission Greddy T-78, single turbo conversion JE pistons Eagle rods Current oiling system plan: Modified RB26DETT oil pan (pics below) Tomei oil sump Tomei crank collar N1 oil pump Tomei oil restrictor drain from the rear of the head to the oil pan Greddy sandwich adapter oil cooler Accu-sump My questions: Will the N1 pump be sufficient? Should I swap the stock pump gears with a set of Reimax gears? Should I sell the N1 and upgrade to a higher end oil pump? If I should upgrade, what brand? Reimax? Greddy? HKS? Tomei? JUN? Any suggestions on an oil cooler? Where do I plumb the Accu-sump? Where is the best place on the pan to plumb the drain from the head? The car will mainly be a street car, not a daily driver...just a weekend warrior. It may see some drag time, but very little. I'd like to make 600-700rwhp. Thanks again for any help and opinions, I appreciate any info or input.
  3. I think I'm gonna tell her to forget it...potentiometers....switches... a lot of extra wiring and mounting stuff I really don't want in the car to begin with...
  4. good call! I didn't even think about the constant drain on my battery. Thanks a lot guys!
  5. LOL! I'm glad you enjoyed it...she'd kill me if she saw it!
  6. I have recently been told (by the lady in my life) that the sound of a built RB isn't the only music I need in my car (bitch...lol...kidding, I love her). Anyway, my DIN space is taken up by gauges and switches. So, can I run my phone/ iPod (Verizon EnV Touch if it matters) through an 4-channel amp to 4 speakers (2 would be fine)? I have an 3.5mm>RCA adapter, an ADS amp and a pair of Infinity 6.5's. By my calculations, that should be all I need (and some wire) but i tried to test it out of the car and it didn't work. here's the details: PWR > battery + RMT > battery + GRD > battery - Ch1 RCA > Red Ch2 RCA > White non-bridged Where is my mistake? Or is this just a pipe-dream? It works on my garage stereo...I'm not trying to run woofers or have amazing sound, I'm just trying to get tunes out of junk salvaged from parts-cars...
  7. WTB: RB26DETT Oil squirter. My machine shop cracked one of mine and I need a new squirter. If you have one, pm or email me goodlife8080@yahoo.com. If it helps, shipping will be to Hanover Pa, 17331 U.S.A. The sooner the better, thanks!
  8. Thanks, don't know how I missed that!
  9. The block is nearly done, 8.5:1 CP pistons and Eagle rods...now it's time to look up top. A little background and perspective on the car: I want it to be streetable (not a daily driver). But it'll mostly see pleasure driving and strip time. My goal is 600whp+. What kind of head work and mods do I need? Cams, obviously...valves? What would you do? Be brand and part# specific if you like...I'm not afraid to spend good money for good parts. Thanks in advance!
  10. Thanks a lot, the FSM is so big, and I don't have a printed copy, so I must have missed it scrolling through the PDF. Thanks a million!
  11. my motoris in the shop...they want to check the tolerances. I need the "ideal" specs for the rod and main journals. I gave them the bore, buthey need info on the crank. exact numbers or a specific site with the info would be awesome...thanks in advance!!
  12. McMaster is an awesome site...they just don't have those M10 nuts I need...but I definitely book-marked it...
  13. I was wondering who you guys used to purchase hard-to-find nuts and bolts. I have been searching for a few M10 x 1.25 flanged nuts...and I've found a few places that sell them, but only in bulk lolts of 25-50. Just curious if anyone knew of any sites that catered more to enthusiasts than business's and large shops...thanks again!
  14. I was looking at adding a second Greddy Type R....but I think I'm just gonna go with one big TiAL
  15. Any ideas on the "Professional Products" pump?
  16. What ws your question?????????

  17. so this isn't just a CP issue? It can happen with any pistons?
  18. So, from what I have gathered so far: ECCS twins (green on the R32/RB26) get fused, constant power. Ign wire gets fused, key ON power. ECU back-up gets fused, constant power. Do I just splice into the corresponding wires coming out of the ECU and give them the appropriate power?
  19. How would this work for a low pressure pump? http://www.professional-products.com/fuelpumps.php I was lookin at the 70152, 255lph/45psi/up to 665hp (turbocharged)
  20. I dl'd the FSM, maybe my copy of it was't the best because everything is kinda blurry. Does anybody know of a good quality scan of the FSM?
  21. I know this isn't 240sx forum, but this is by far the greatest braintrust of RB knowledge I have found on the net thus far, and everyone has been super helpful. PS- Maybe an easier way to grasp what I'm trying to do would be "how would you swap an RB26 into a dune buggy?"
  22. I hope that made sense. I am getting ready to install my RB26 into a completely rewired drag car. It is not a Z-car (although, I don't think it's of any importance), it's a 240sx. Everything on the car has been rewired (ign, lights, fuel pumps, horn, etc) to operate on toggle switches and push buttons. I also plan to run a full set of aftermarket gauges. I understand this will require all new relays and fuse to replace those under the hood. I should be able to use the RB26 harnesses on their own, correct? I just need to be pointed in the right direction on how to get power to the ECU (and how to distribute it to the appropriate relays), how to hook up my various gauges. I have searched and will continue to search, but I just think it should be easier to start with a clean slate than to splice into an existing harness.
  23. Does the Facet "red top" have a part number...I've Googled "facet red top" and haven't gotten any good leads. I could baffle the surge tank if the high pressure is a concern. Will an inline pump "suck through" if the pressure requires?
