  1. I did mine without the relay board and it turned out fine, I wired a fuse block i found at radioshack and then ran two new relays. The main thing that i didnt like about the relay board was the fact that i couldnt find one that came with a cover. I dont really have the machining ability to make one and i didnt want it in the engine bay without one. I mounted my MS right where the old ecu was, there is plenty of space and its right by the existing hole in your firewall so its easy to wire, im guessing you are putting this in a previously fuel injected z. Good luck with it. Blake
  2. Anyone tried a trubo on ebay, there are several t3/t4's going in the 350 range that seem like a pretty good deal. However im pretty clueless when it comes to the compressor and exhaust sizes. My setup is megasquirt, 450cc dsm injectors, 24x12x4 bar and plate intercooler, 60mm tb, and im looking to make around 350hp or close to that. Thanks in advance for any imput. Blake
  3. Simply amazing!!! I finished the wiring yesterday, and then copied the spark and fuel tables that moby has listed in his sticky today and then set the timing. On the FIRST try cranking for maybe ONE SECOND it kicked right up and idled completly smooth. I couldnt believe it, the car never started that good with the stock ecu. I wanted to say thanks to everyone on hybridz who posts, i found almost all the information to install it just by searching think i only had to ask two questions. stpcial thanks moby for the great sticky and TonyD for your great posts that really helped out, i dont think i could have done it without the info form you two. Blake
  4. Thanks Tony, makes perfect sense. Now as soon as i find them ill be in buisness they dont seem to be where my service manual says they are, interesting.
  5. I have a 82zx that i swapped in a zxt motor and ecu. I am putting my megasquirt ecu in hopefully this weekend, can i use the stock dropping resistors or do i need to buy some from digi key? thanks for any info Blake
  6. I purchased the megasquirt kit and wiring harness from diy autotune. Then i realized every wiring diagram i found for MS&Sis using the relay board... I really wanted to skip the relay board and use a straight wiring harness because i think it looks cleaner and i thought i could save a little money by not buying the relay board. For the fuel control "half" of megasquirt I had planned on just using the stock fuel and ignition relays and triggering them from the megasquirt, then wiring the sensors and injectors as normal with the wiring harness and using easytherm for the cht sensor. However when it comes to wiring for timing "half" of megasquirt Im confused on where i actually place the pullup/pulldown resistors listed in the sticky by Mobythevan. Is anyone else using just a straight wiring harness, if so could you let me know how you have yours set up. Electircs are not my strong point, im much more mechanically minded. Am i on the right track here? Thanks in advance for your help. Blake
