  1. Your Z looks great! Any rubbing? I am thinking about these wheels for my 72...
  2. want's to be at ZDAYZ!!!

  3. Ok, so I have to say this up front - everyone has his or her own taste in body kits. Some are wacked, some are fracked, and some just work. I'd been thinking about it for my 07 350Z for a while - really - since I had my 2003 350Z that I traded after 18 months when DW (Darling Wife) said we were going to have a child. So I sold the 350Z, got a maxima and after 3 years- and my little girl had been in my car once - I told DW I was going to get another...She was excited for me - That's why she's DW. And she buys me Z performance parts for Christmas SO I finally landed on a kit that I liked - but not all of it. The brand I picked is AIT Racing. I did some research and they had good reviews from quite a bit of sources, but I did not find any from Z posts...So I got the SRS front bumper and side skirts - then I chose the Nismo V2 spoiler (yes a knockoff) and the VS-2 rear bumper. Norbe was great to work with at AIT and I recieved all my parts the next week via Truck. OK, now for my comments about the quality of the parts - The fit and finish is decent, but not great. And the carbon fiber in the spoiler was totally fracked up - I don't know how they thought they could send it out, but I don't like CF anyway and had it painted but that's more of a heads up than anything else. The actual CF appeared to be bunched up in several places both on top and bottom - so be warned. There were a few spider cracks in the mold but my body shop took care of them. Also, the front bumper had to be cut and fiberglassed because the front bumper would bow in the middle and the hood would not close. Fortunately Erick at Final Finish in Matthews NC resolved all the issues - so the front bumper, clean up of the spider cracks and total spray of the CF wing were the major issues - and they were not that major when you consider the investment of a body kit (and doing it right). One other item we addressed was the tow hook - the kit was pretty tight and if I needed to install my tow hook, I'd need to push the bumper and possibly rip off the bumper because of the new angle. Erick took off the front aluminum brace and had the tow hook assembly cut and lengthened so that the tow hook is in the middle of the grill opening. I also highly recomend adding a grill of some sort to your 350Z as I lost my condenser going to ZCON 08 thru WVA when a rock punctured the condenser - Nissan did not consider that warranty and it's a nice $500 bucks to replace. Nice. Anyway - that being the past -I have a grill now... I also went with a grey metalic from the front grill color to accent the VS-2 exhaust area that really stands out nicely too - hope you enjoy it.

  5. Just found another Google map with both Z's and the Quest in the pic...Electric Eye...http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&geocode=&q=McKee+Road+Matthews,+NC&sll=35.038219,-80.694323&sspn=0.036614,0.055275&ie=UTF8&ll=35.078543,-80.719962&spn=0.000572,0.000864&t=h&z=20
  6. OK, This Thread is starting because i was looking at my house on Zillow (http://www.zillow.com provides real estate market trends) and it uses MS Live Search Maps. I noticed my 280ZX Turbo in the driveway...so I thought this would be a cool thread to see other Z's found on sat pics. There are a few ways to check an address out - 1. Google Maps (http://www.maps.google.com) 2. Yahoo Maps (http://www.maps.yahoo.com 3. MSN Maps (http://www.maps.live.com) Check both bird's eye view and aerial as they have different times when they were taken and the 'bird's eye' has better clarity for viewing 4. Mapquest (http://www.mapquest.com) Can you spot your Z or someone you know's Z - ? To get the picture to upload -I just get a screen print (print scrn button) and then paste into paint. Then crop out what I don't need and save as JPG to the PC. (for those who don't know how to do that part)
  7. Good Point. I'll check the FI pressure, regulator and TPS this weekend.
  8. it's more like a backfire thru the turbo that when I apply throttle, that it boggs down and coughs, if I ease off,and it's ok - how touchy are the 81 pickups on the Crank angle sensor - thinking it's more of a timing issue
  9. stock boost - stock gap on the plugs - I did just replaced the plugs thinking I had a firing issue -checked the wires, same thing as before all Fule injectors seem to be working - I can hear them opening / pulsating - O2 is tricky - stock O2 sensor - can't get the damn thing out - even with days of oil penetration lube (no jokes please... with 02 tool -- it does still run the same at idle, but I haven't unplugged the o2 and driven it around...Would the cough sound be more like a wastegate issue? The turbo is fairly old but seems to spin up under no load just fine, only when the car is under load that it's doing this....
  10. stock 81 - I used a Analog Meter to check the TPS switch when I R&R it' a few years ago
  11. Bump-Anyone have any ideas on this one?
  12. My L28 Turbo is coughing on me on boost - I've checked the basics - it really only happens when I am trying to spin up the boost / accelerate - I can slowly gain speed and boost, but it coughs when punching it. It Seems like a AFM issue, but all test show as OK on TPS and AFM - any suggestoins on what to check or troubleshoot? Throttle response in park is fine, revs nicely - no issues there- just under driving conditions...
  13. I'm starting to build up my 280ZXT engine after upgrading the suspension, paint, interrior (well, it's never really finished -right?) I purchased a T3/T4 T04E Turbo upgrade and after doing some searching / reviews of sticky threads I probably have more questions that ever. I'd like to have about 300-350HP - So with the Turbo upgrade (I just had a 3" stainless exhaust installed last month) I want to go with an intercooler kit w/bov. I see several folks have made custom kits- does anyone recommend a kit off of ebay? There are a few there w/intercoolers and BOV - but the issue is- are there enough tubes, right bends, etc. Also, to go along with this subject- is the misubushi eclipse turbo the best injectors for this project along with a custom fuel rail? The sticky on injectors was a few years old too. Thanks all
