  1. no, not any ZG's or any flares for that matter. Just adding a color matched front air dam with clear lens front signals. Trying to keep it simple but sporty. I don't want to overdo the look since it will be slightly lower with the double adjustable ilumina's and the 17x8.5 Kodiak racing wheels. To go along with the 13" cross drilled disc's all around. I just hope it looks as good as it does in my head.
  2. So i got to pick up the car from the paintshop and i think it looks pretty darn good. The rolled rear pan is as smooth as a babies bottom. Now it is droped off at the interior shop. As you can tell there is nothing in it and no those teeny tiny speakers are not staying. It will have a much improved system.
  3. Got a couple shots of the car while getting painted. Should be ready next week to get the new interior and all the other special fun parts to get this car rockin'. I chose the '07 350Z red, to keep it in the family.
  4. Alright, so here are a couple photos of the progress on my Z. The rollpan has been smoothed along with getting rid of the side markers. Yes the front bumper will be changed for the euro bumper and also using a 240 hood. I have decided to swap to a L28et with alot of internal and external work and using megaquirt. I will post more pics as things progress.
  5. If i were to put in a RB25 would i be able to detune it also to pass smog or is smoging a 25 just out of the question?
  6. This is all extremely helpful. Now if i only had a smog "buddy":flamedevi
  7. Trying to decide which way to go. Keep my l28e in my 78 280z and bore it out and make it a stroker motor with hopefully 300hp or go with a l28et turbo and go for 400hp. I live in California so smog is an issue but so is reliability. I want the power and the reliability. Just looking for some help in my decision making. Thanks Brian
  8. Finally got it running and everything seems to be good. I am off now and taking it to Sunrise Z in Glendale. They seem to me to be some good guys. I will post pics of the progress.

  10. thank you. I will give these some looking at. Brian
  11. Someone said that this project was being done in Santa Clarita. I was wondering if anyone new of the shops name? I live in Santa Clarita and would like to check it out, and maybe have them work on my Z. Not with the viper motor of course.
  12. This is my first time tackleing a restoration project. I have a 78 280z and i am looking for any kind of info on how to start the full custom restoration. I don't know if it is easier to start with one thing or the other and then the following steps. Like when to do the engine or paint and interior. I am located in Northern Los Angeles and if anyone knows of any good shops i could take it to, it would be much appreciated. Thanks Brian
  13. could i get to the 400 level with a swap to a sr20 or an RB motor. If so what do those swaps go for? Brian
  14. and where could i find info on this engine. Did a search and didn't find any.
  15. Please tell me that is still a 6 and not a V8 conversion!
  16. Yeah this is my first Z. I would like to get the hp up to 300-350, hopefully naturally aspirated. But if i gotta go turbo i will. Maybe get it up to 400.
  17. I unfortunatly have become the recipeant of a 78 280z through the passing of my father-in-law. But i am tremendously happy to have this car as my project car. We were on the same wavelength on where we wanted to see this car go. After some quick inspection i have found a faulty fuel line, a cracked rear brake line and a torn real axle boot. I am located in Northern Los Angeles and i did some searching to try to find some Z specialty places, or anything close to that, that is close to my neck of the woods. I can't seem to be finding any. I heard of Z works, but i am not sure if this ever existed or still does. If anyone in the LA area could throw out some names of good places it would be much appreciated. I am looking to do a full custom rebuild and am ready to jump in with both feet. This is my first post and look forward to many more. Thanks in advance Brian
