  2. So as long as it's a 12V source it will work? Reason I ask is i'm having a hard time finding a place that sells these who will ship to Canada.

  4. Hey Kirby Probably a stupid question...But what is a thermal flasher? Are those in the steering column somewhere.
  5. Hey guys, I have a 72 240z and for the last 3 months I have had a problem with my flashers that i just cannot figure out for the life of me. When i activate my right side flasher, everything is fine and dandy. Activating the left side flasher is where the fun starts, when i activate the left side, all the flashers flicker as if i were on my hazards. I read a few posts here and there that said the problem was probably with the hazard flasher unit itself, so like a dummy I bought a refurbished unit of Ebay for $150. That didn't fix a single thing. I am desperate guys...Has anyone had this issue? Any suggestions? If I could fix this it would help start 2013 on the right foot.
  6. That is awesome to hear... I've been nerveous about commiting to buying the engine...But i finally found a complete package with the engine...tranny...ecu and all the harnesses for $1100...i'm excited...I really wanted to build a Stroker but I can't warrant all that money for what it is...Guess the crank and some other stuff that I have will be going up for sale soon!!
  7. Ok guys... I'm probably swapping an RB25DET in my 240z...It will be an automatic..(insert jokes here) do you think the auto tranny will fit in the tunnel? Any idea if I can use the same mounts? It's hard finding info because I dunno if anyone has ever done an auto switch with an RB engine...do you see any other issues? Thanks

  9. Alright so it's been a while since I posted anything, it's just that parts take forever to get here and with a two month old at home...Well it is what it is hehe. But hey I received some nice ARP hardware a few days ago.
  10. Forgot to mention, that the $600 paid for the crank actually included polishing. The guy I bought it from had it polished a few days before giving up on his build and posting it on Ebay.
  11. I plan on going with the F54 also. Not really any debate about that for me. People have all kinds of opinions about things, I guess that's what makes life interesting. Devil i'll PM you shortly about those pistons. Thanks for offering, sure beats buying two boxes of pistons for nothing. I'll have more updates soon with pictures of the actual car and when new parts come in.
  12. Hey Steve Awesome build. I probably should have put this in member projects too...Would have made more sense i guess. I have the head, a P90, i don't technically have the block yet no, though i am fortunate enough to have a Z scrap yard about 30 minutes away from my place (even more fortunate when you consider that i'm in Canada) I know for a fact he has any block that I need. Why do you ask?

  14. Soooo.... I've had my 72 240z for about two years now. She's your average run of the mill S30, except for the fact that she's an automatic. I have been going back and fourth for months about what i wanted to do with the car. LS1..RB..L28ET..Stroker.. I seem to change my mind every second day. One of the challenges is that the car is staying automatic no matter what. So that kind of eliminates the RB option. Now i know, lots of you will have something to say about it staying automatic, you're entitled to your opinions, i just don't really want to hear it in this case. Anyways after months of debate..I have decided to go with the Stroker. I know, this is not the best HP option and far from the cheapest, but I love the sound of it and it just seems more appropriate then the LS1. I like the fact that the torque is what makes this engine fun, I mostly drive my Z on the street, not the track. I'd like to have 200-225HP by the time i'm done. I've read through countless topics on Hybridz and i decided I would share as much of my build as possible. I will be buying parts in the coming weeks and months. Everytime I get something new, I'll share it here, along with the price, as this might help aspiring builders figure out pricing for a basic Stroker build. Keep in mind, I have no mechanical skills whatsoever, so i'll post my parts first, and then the actual build will be conducted by Whitehead Performance in Toronto. I'm looking forward to hearing your opinions on my part picks and whatever you may have to say. If you have parts that i could use..don't be shy to share with me. So without further delay, here is my first part... LD28 crank...I paid $600 for it.
  15. Hey Tony, Glad to see an answer from you here. I don't participate in many topics, but i view many of them and i know that you have a lot of knowledge when it comes to these cars, i see you participating in many of the more technical conversations. Is this 74 Z your car? do you mind sharing your setup with me? In other words, what you are saying, Is as long as the carbs are properly installed and tuned the way they should be, they should run fine with an auto? Also bare with me here, i'm not very mechanically inclined, and not always familiar with certain terms, what do you mean exactly when you say "Kickdown will be activated quite a bit"?
  16. Hi, Does anybody have any experience running Weber carbs or Mikuni carbs with an automatic 240z? Can it even be done? At some point i would like to have a stroker build in there...but i plan on keeping the auto tranny so my wife and dad (crippled hand) can drive it once in a while. I have been told by Whitehead performance (Z specialists) that there is no problem having a Stroker with an auto trans but was curious about these higher performance carbs. Thanks

  18. Hi, I'm looking for one of those nice Kameari radiator hoses. RHDJAPAN.com used to carry them but Kameari no longer makes them, so RHD no longer has them in stock. Help me out here guys, I wanna clean up my engine bay with style.
