  1. Yes, I have the l28et motor installed.Thanks for the input.I'll have to look for a r200 with the 3.54 gears.
  2. Just curious because i was thinking about changing my 3.90 gears to 3.54.I would just install a whole new diff with the 3.54 gears already in it.Should i stick with my current set-up?I'm asking because the rpm's real get up there in 1st gear and i thought maybe the 3.54 would make the turbo spool up faster.Any advice would be much appreciated.

I went out to warm my z up this morning and tried to start it up ,but the car won't fire.It cranks,but no start.I have good fuel pressure.I tested the ignitor and coil and those two tested fine.I'm starting to think the crank angle sensor may have gone bad all of a sudden.Any ideas on what else the problem maybe?
  5. When my turbo motor was shipped.The invoice said 550 lbs.Not sure about the tranny.
  6. I've been running 225/50r/15 tires all the around on my z,.I'm thinking about changing to a diffrent size for the front(smaller width).What size would you recommend for the front.Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  7. I thought my afm bad was after water got into the circuit board.The cover is missing.I've got spark,but not getting any fuel.Could i've fried the ecu because of the water?Just asking because i've used another working afm and the car won't turn over.
  8. I posted a couple weeks ago about my afm.Washed my 280zxt and water got into afm.I didn't have the cover attached.The car was running fine before i washed it.Didn't start after that. I took of the afm,sprayed some contact cleaner and let it dry out out.The car still doesen't start.I don't have any spark or fuel.Will a bad afm cause the engine not to have spark or fuel? "Symptoms of a bad afm".Sorry for the spelling error.
  9. That was my main concern.My engine bay is white which shows every sign of dirt ect.I think if i cover up the dizzy,all sensors,tps, battery(just to be safe),I should be fine.I'll use some degreaser and follow the directions of course.I'll try and post some before and after pic's.
  10. I was thinking about using degreaser to clean the engine bay,cover everything electrical up with aluminum foil and hosing it down with a garden hose.Some people say to leave the engine running.Don't want to do that.
  11. I've been searching for a while now and just curious exactly how everyone cleans their engine bay.I know to cover up all the obvious electrical stuff,as well as all sensors. I know that the degreaser you can buy at any auto parts store works ok.Simple green works also.Anyway,just curious if anyone has a certain method when they clean their engine bay.

I washed my z today.My afm cover is missing and when i went to start it up it ran like crap.I opened the hood and noticed that there was water inside where the afm cover go's.I cleaned the water out,and now the car won't start.Should i wait forthe water to dry out?Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  17. I did my turbo swap last year in my 1980 280zx and my tach isn't working.I do see a couple of wires from my n/a harness that are just hanging there.Is there a certain colored wire that needs to be hooked up to the coil?
  18. My plug wires are in the correct order.When i turn the car over it sputters out the tail pipe,like it wants to start.Any other thoughts?

My car has ran rich since i did my turbo turbo swap.Car wouldn't rev and ran sluggish.I thought that my oil pump spindle was off a bit.Set the motor at tdc,pulled the spindle out and aligned the two punch marks. I also put new plugs in as well.Went to start her up and it just sputters out of the tail pipe.I have spark,no vacuum leaks and good fuel pressure.I pulled the ecu plugs in and out several times.I'm lost and any help would be greatly appreciated.Oh, I have an 83 turbo motor.
