  1. A bunch of new wire connections on the car, this is a sample... installed all NOS vent hoses today, refurbished fuel sending harness and ready for the dent and ding free fuel tank.... That is spot welds you see on the tank... re-chromed and plated fuel door knob... fuel cap replated and new hardware This is a prototype of a long lost part from 70 and 71 that I am making, needs a few things reworked but it is really close to the original. It is a steering rack expansion reservoir.
  2. most of the larger items I sent off and got replated, and some I purchased. Most of the bolts and smaller items I did with the yellow zinc chromate. You cant tell a difference between the two types of plating jobs. The biggest Item I can plate with my 32amp rectifier is an item that has 225sq. inches (IE: the window roller unit)
  3. thx, its a project that keeps on giving and giving. I still have many more parts that have been replated and will post once put on the car. There is not one item that has not been replated or refurbished on the entire car.
  4. some misc. items I have been replating Arizona Z car r200LSD rear bar NOS Factory fuel pump for 73 240z, had to fab a new mounting bracket around Arizona Z rear end bars..
  5. hello all I need help with the id of fuel line and brake line rubber insulators. The three insulators in question have a ? above them. I need to know what year or if they even go on a 240z, maybe a 73? They seem to be for larger fuel and return lines than on 71 and 72 240z. maybe a 260z or later since both the return and fuel line are the same size? 2nd top left is a tunnel insulator but not sure the year or model( 99.9% sure its a 260z since same size fuel and return lines)?, and the 1st top left is the free floating insulator under tunnel near rear end , not sure on the year or model(99.9% sure its a 260z since same size fuel and return lines ) 2nd bottom left with 3 holes looks like it is a 260z (99.9% sure its a 260z since same size fuel and return lines) anyone with a 260z willing to let me know if they are on your car? any help or input would be a great help
  6. more pics fuel lines with new urethane insulators more new urethane insulators I molded replated Ebrake and rear end strap holder
  7. A project within a project... Most of all my fuel line and brake line insulators are shot.. I molded and cast new Polyurethane insulators, this is a test insulator with a 70 shore rating. Each insulator will be degassed in a vacuum chamber and then cast in a pressure pot. The new die for the insulator was milled on milling machine for very high quality master insulator. new on left and old on the right. This was cast in a high quality two part mold.
  8. I love the old school American racing libre rims... looking good.
  9. The last of my bigger items that I replated. At this point I have over 98% of All items including all nuts, bolts, washers, etc replated.
  10. original 904 white is like an ivory color... few more pics of parts.. All nuts, bolts, washers and anything from the factory has been refinished in Cadmium Plating
  11. This is my 1971 240z restoration, this is my very first car, purchased in 1983 when I was 16. The car has been sitting in my garage parked since 1991 and my goal was to get her back on the road. Fix the brakes, clutch and minor things, but one thing led to another and the next thing you know I was all in. Car came with a sun roof and I HATED it, leaked really bad and anyone who puts a sunroof in a Z should be shot in public, so out with the sun roof and in with a donor roof from a 280z form the junk yard, I lead soldered all the corner joints just like the factory did. I cut out all rust and welded in new patch panels. Installed BadDog frame rails, cut part off the front end off that was damaged in a wreck at sometime, etc. pics show it all... these are the pics of a 18 month span. I did all work, including the painting of the car with Dupont Chromaone singlestage 904 white.
  12. Painting my 71 white with Dupont Chromaone single stage 904 white.
  13. I ordered some parts last week from Dave, calling him is the best way to order. He shipped my parts out the same day I paid.
  14. Nice!! Did he get you the oscillator?
  15. I purchased mine online, I was looking at your pictures and your is rusted out exactly underneath just like mine. I purchased a 18" Bending Brake from Harbor Freight for $35 and bent new metal and welded in new parts. Then welded in new sill plate, it fits really good and also looks factory, you will have to drill the holes for rear taillight body panels and license plate light.
  16. epoxy primer on all bare metal..no I used very little body filler, only fixing the low spots, then 2k high build primer which will cover and fill scratch marks on body plus small problem areas. here is a pic of my hatch sill plate
  17. I sprayed the entire bare metal car with epoxy primer, then did my body work, then sprayed it with 3 coats of 2k high build primer, guide coated the 2k high build with 180 and 320 dry. Then shot 3 more coats of 2k high build and wet sanded with 400 and now doing 600 to remove orange peel in the primer. Then I will spray a 2k sealer right before I paint and let it flash, then I will paint the car and then wet sand with 1500-2000 to remove orange peel and trash... I have been working on my body for almost a year now...
  18. nice project...I am just a little ahead of you on my 71. All my body work is now done and I am now wet sanding with 600. I replaced the roof and leaded in the joint just like the factory did, repaired rust on floor pans, cut out all rust and also did the rear hatch decking, hit me up if you have any questions..
  19. More research on fitting cable, seems the 240z cable ends and mounting brackets are 12mm and the 260 and 280 are 14mm...so brackets would need to be bored out 2mm, anyone done this? thx
