The reed valve in a two stroke is a one way valve that keeps the air/fuel charge from pumping back out and into the carb when the piston comes down and ensures it goes up the transfer ports and into the cylinder. You can't remove it or the engine won't work.
it will if the turbo is constantly boosting the crankcase and soon as the piston is all the way on the down stroke the air/fuel will move up the the transfer ports, soon as the the piston moves past the transfer ports the piston seals off the intake... so if you think about it the turbo is trying to keep the reeds open anyway...

HAHA in the RV!!
is that gravel? dig a big hole?
ive done some fishtailing in my 24ft rv, and its on 35's!

i dont see a diffrence, unsrug weight? maybe a couple lbs also tokico springs are not progressive? at least mine were the same top to bottom
-
best spoiler? downforce? or looks?
downforce..= maintain high pressure over the top of the car which pushes the car to the ground=traction ^ thats the best idea i can think of...kinda looks like a whale tale eh

Ok so the original question "340 Polaris and a ihi RBH5" yes u could make it work, what i would do is convert your carb(s) to throttle bodys only. Remove the reed cages and run a fuel injector(s) with megasquirt. Is there a battery on that polaris?

about ready for some new tires there john? haha rad
-
how did u fit those wheels? coilovers? spacers??
thanks
yeah i made my own adapters front 35mm rear 25mm..
the wheels are offset +38
rear tire is 265/35 its about 1/4" from the spring perch
so i would say im maxed out without going to coil overs...
i know i can run a 295 on that rim and would like to so coil-overs are in the works

ive seen only 1 turbo 2-stroke in my life, it was a 500cc banshee out at glamis CA. The owner didnt seem to get it to run that great... Sounded SUPER nasty and had a very narrow power band...
secondly a 2-stroke needs the Expansion chamber to extract the gas's from the motor.. and a turbo would disrupt that theroy all together...
im not saying it cant be done, but it woudlnt run that great.. for one thing the piston on the up stroke draws air in thrugh the REED VALVE which is a one way valve. When the piston is going down the valve is closed and the air/fuel under the piston and crankcase is pressurized forceing the air up the transferports and back on top of the piston.... so if the turbo was spooled produceing boost it would open the reed valve ALL THE TIME when the piston is creating pressure on the down stroke to close it so basicly the turbo would FIGHT with motor. and haha just thought of that ^^
your best bet to make power with a 2-stroke is porting and a high compression head... and a high octane fuel to back up the high compression

Alex, so what type of "sewing machine oil" are you going to run in that "thing"?
Mark
Ive had the best luck with AMSOIL burns VERY clean, no residue or black icky like other oils like maxima, bel ray, spectro etc

hey hickL what size tire are are you running now? just wondering how my 265/35/18 will do on the 1/4 compared to like a 225/60/15

ill try what dr hunt said and cut off the end of a junk yard cable and seal it...
so im assumeing the actuator is in the lower posistion right?
-
so if i dont want to use it i just need to sleal it so it doesnt leak and does it need to be in the out posistion or in?
-
hi im about to drop in the motor and trans and the only thing holding me back is the kickdown cable... can i not use this? like lock it out? or is it a must?
also is it possible to install it while in the car or will it be too cramped?

im running HID 10k bulbs off ebay, H4 style bulb and ebay 7" round lenses
you can do the entire setup for about $250
Havnt got pulled over yet "knock on wood"
you can see my car w/10k bulbs here http://www.cardomain.com/member_pages/show_image.pl?bg=FFFFFF&image=http://memimage.cardomain.net/member_images/10/web/2314000-2314999/2314369_14_full.jpg
also i am running the "smoked" lense covers it helps tone down the hid's and looks sweet

if you add HID to any car that didnt originaly come hid it is illegal, in CA that is.
law passed in 2004

I just about got my motor swap finished. I have long tube headers with 3" collectors on my chevy 350. How do you think a single 3" compares to dual 2.5" system? more low end? also doesnt a single 3" pipe flow more than 2 2.5" pipes?
check it out http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2314369
how to turbocharged 2 stroke ????
in Other Engines

yeah after i was thinking about it, when the piston is on the downward stroke its building pressure 80% of the stroke till the last 20% (approx) and soon as the top ring clears it gets blasted in swirling atop the piston and pulseing out the exhaust at the same time...
