Hi, I just bought a new (to me!) 280z with a stock engine. After a few minutes of driving, the temp goes up and past the redline as the engine overheats. When I stop there is vapor escaping from one of the hoses (heater core). I'm guessing either the thermostat or the water pump is bad. What would be the correct steps to diagnose the problem?
