  1. THANK YOU!! That is the EXACT paint scheme I am getting ready to do!! EXACTLY LOL. I was curious how it would turn out (black hood) but it looks great!! My Z is going into media blast in a couple weeks and I will be doing the bodywork/paint..its gonna be my first time too, but what the hell. Thanks for the kick in the butt to get er done!

  2. Thanks for teh VID!!. gives me something to shoot for. You gotta let us guys in sac know when you are coming down. I am 15 minutes down the road from Sac raceway and would LOVE to see the cars..BTW what are the specs on the z? Thanks!

  3. I have just got done stripping many all original parts from my newly aquired 71' 240z for the purposes of building a street/strip Z ala the Lsx/T56/R200 route. After selling a bunch of stuff on Ebay I was shocked at the prices some of the pieces got. Now being that this car is going to cost between 10k and 15k to complete (fully disassembled, media preped, rotisserie etc) and I like many others have other responsibilities I am going to begin buying parts from a local junk yard (full of Z's) and attempting to sell the parts on Ebay to pay for my project.

My question is what parts are the most "profitable"? i have a short list which includes

    87-89 300zx R200 (duh)

    turbo exhaust manifolds

    280 R200 mustache bars etc.

    Any upgraded carbs...

    Nice grills

    Nice bumpers

What else should I be on the lookout for? Thanks alot..:)

  4. Too many times have I arrived at a 87-89 turbo z31 to find the R200 already removed within the same day of the car being placed out there:shifty:. I want to assemble a bag of tools to leave in my truck so I can have the minimum amount needed for a fast removal and exit:D. what should I throw in there?? Thanks

  5. Tomorrow I am going to pick up an "R200 LSD" from a gentlemen who said it was original from a 83'zx. Now I have "searched" on the forums and have come to the conclusion that 83' zx were not LSD. My question is, what is the easiest way to determine if the rearend has an LSD unit?

The unit is apart from the automobile. I ws going to attempt to spin the driveshaft by hand while having a friend holding one of the axles and making my determination on what the other axle does. Does this sound logical? Thank!!
