I found this Z on the web and want to know if anyone has more info/pictures of it? I also want to know what side mirrors are those? Thanks

Are you sure the R200 lsd came in the 79 zx? Or was it added later? thanks

I have been told to avoid LS1's motors which have been in a rollover...I dont remember exactley why but I will ask my buddy...

The little reciepts can be decieving. I built a 72 Chevelle between the ages of 16 and 19..When I was done I had 18k in reciepts, not including the car..those were the good ol' days living with moms with buttloads of money to blow!!
-
The Ls2 alone was probably 8k ++

Congrats:-o Where did you get the engine from? GM recyclers in Rancho? Is it the 350hp or 400hp?

Sorry, looking for an LSD unit. thanks

Give me a $$ ball park and Ill give you a place...I could list a couple places but I dont want her to go down there just to be shocked at the price and more bummed out...Im in elk gorve which is pretty much South Sacramento...

I have just got done stripping many all original parts from my newly aquired 71' 240z for the purposes of building a street/strip Z ala the Lsx/T56/R200 route. After selling a bunch of stuff on Ebay I was shocked at the prices some of the pieces got. Now being that this car is going to cost between 10k and 15k to complete (fully disassembled, media preped, rotisserie etc) and I like many others have other responsibilities I am going to begin buying parts from a local junk yard (full of Z's) and attempting to sell the parts on Ebay to pay for my project.
My question is what parts are the most "profitable"? i have a short list which includes
87-89 300zx R200 (duh)
turbo exhaust manifolds
280 R200 mustache bars etc.
Any upgraded carbs...
Nice grills
Nice bumpers
What else should I be on the lookout for? Thanks alot..

Shameless plug...Yes it is my auction. I think its a decent deal though...

Too many times have I arrived at a 87-89 turbo z31 to find the R200 already removed within the same day of the car being placed out there:shifty:. I want to assemble a bag of tools to leave in my truck so I can have the minimum amount needed for a fast removal and exit:D. what should I throw in there?? Thanks

Congrats!! I cant wait to experience that accomplishment with my conversion.

230 is going on ebay...200 is going in the Z. Yeah it might be a little more work but for $175.00 it ws to cheap to let go...It has both axles and was taken out of a 55k miles car.
-
Scored!!! He had 2 r200's both lsd both from 90-96 300z's, 1 N/A and 1 TT. I got them both!! Let me know if anyone needs one.! Thanks
-
THANKS!!! I hope its an LSD..R200, front/rear bumpers for $200.00 WOOT!!

Tomorrow I am going to pick up an "R200 LSD" from a gentlemen who said it was original from a 83'zx. Now I have "searched" on the forums and have come to the conclusion that 83' zx were not LSD. My question is, what is the easiest way to determine if the rearend has an LSD unit?
The unit is apart from the automobile. I ws going to attempt to spin the driveshaft by hand while having a friend holding one of the axles and making my determination on what the other axle does. Does this sound logical? Thank!!
