  1. Hey folks,

looking to buy a decent used or new wiper motor for my Z car. Poor thing was on it's last legs for a while, and finally died. If you have one laying around or could pull one from a donor car, that would be fantastic. Ebay lists some nice, new replacements for ~$140, so I'm looking for much cheaper than that.

Please email at jmurphz33@gmail.com for a quicker response.

    Thanks!

  2. Hey Z guys;

alright, I've had my 280 for a while now, running a stock, FI setup.

I'm getting horrible mileage (compared to what it should get), and I analyzed the exhaust gases, with a CO percentage of about 7.2%, and an estimated AFR of 12.8-13.1 at idle. Not good.

I've ruled out the ECU, ignition, pressure regulator, both coolant sensors, and switches. I'm down to the AFM. I just purchased a very clean, working one off of ebay.

    I believe it's a 7 pin, but I'm not totally sure.

The clip on the harness is missing two connectors, but I'm not sure if I have a f*d up harness (previous owner was STUPID), or the wrong AFM.

    Any help would be great!

    Thanks guys.

  3. Oh no------

I feel your pain. The roof of my 280 looks sort of like a giant golf ball... it's not pretty at the moment.

But filling and using the long sanding block sounds like a good plan--- or that flexible sander that racerx posted. Looks like I've got some work to do.

Thanks for being so thorough and willing to help, fellow z guys.

I'm impressed with most threads I read on this site because it seems like everyone is really into helping eachother out. I dig!

  4. cozy z cole-- thanks for the link! I read that thread before, but I was just looking for a diagram. But the thought counts :)

And mopar69, nice little diagram, and helpful. Going to order the bumper on monday and fab up a couple brackets. Thanks a lot!

Oh, and I see you're from spokane-- how's the weather been over there?

Suprising, it's raining up here in B'ham...

  5. Hey fellow Z guys--

I know many of you have put the smaller & MUCH better looking 240Z bumpers on your 260s/280s...

and I know that a little bit of custom bracketry is required for a good fit.

But is there anyone who has made the brackets, and is willing to supply me a little sketch with dimensions? (As I'm just buying the bumpers from MSA or another, I don't have the original 240z brackets).

I can work with metal, but it'd take a lot of guesswork out of the picture if someone could throw some numbers at me--so I could get started fabricating.

    Thanks!

  6. First of all, I'm a new user---but I've been browsing the forums here for quite a while, and I like what I see. Seems like most of the guys here know what they're talking about, and it's encouraging, especially since I'll probably have a lot of tech questions down the road.

    Anyways, onto my issue.

I bought my 1978 280Z last fall, and have until now been making it as close to out-of-factory driving condition---- now I'm ready to take the plunge and go for the L28ET swap.

I already have my F54 block, cleaned and ready to be honed, P90A head w/ some porting and a 3-angle valve grind job, crank polished, and rods ready to go. I'm having MAJOR trouble finding a good set of pistons, however. I'm looking for forged, none of this cast garbage---don't want them to shatter if detonation occurs :-| (high boost setting will probably be about 15? :-P ).

So, any help, or a link to a known good distributor would be AWESOME.

    Thanks for the help.

...oh, and also--- anybody know if the bottom end in an 83 ZXT comes from factory with forgings?
