  1. Yeah, I went out with her, too. Once, about 20+ years ago.
  2. The cableX box needs the signal from the speed sensor on the trans. It will not work with the signal out of the ECM.
  3. And new hoses. And a new dryer. JCI's kit is a bargain in my book. Mike
  4. The 240 has a mechanical fuel pump on the engine. So there is no direct replacement. The walbro is your best bet. It is an external, in-line pump. You didn't mention if you are going to use the stock tach and speedo or go with after market. It is possible to use the stock speedo by using the CableX box, and to have John's set up your tach. Also, if you didn't get a drive shaft from JCI, you'll need to have one built. While the engine, tranny is out would be a good time to replace the clutch, especially if your donor has a few miles on it. Good luck and keep us posted. Mike
  5. Sorry to here that, man. You've put an awful lot of work into that car. I hope its just bolt on parts and not too expensive. Good luck with it. Mike
  6. The stud is the hot cable bolt. Cut it as short as possible and still be able to mount the cable. I ground the plastic insulator down too. John's kit utilizes one stock camaro/firebird motor mount that would come with a donor engine, so doesn't come with the kit. The GTO motor mounts are very different and won't work, so you need to source a camaro/firebird mount. Mike
  7. I'll need to look around the shop, I know its here somewhere? If I can find it you can have it for the shipping. Mike
  8. I was able to use the GTO alternator (LS2) by cutting the stud as short as I could get it, then modifying the motor mount slightly using a hole saw. Didn't really have to remove very much. I am sure I didn't hurt the strength of the mount at all. I used a B&M shifter for the GTO which eliminates the set back and extra linkage in the GTO shifter. I also used a Camaro oil pan, pick-up, and dipstick and tube, but the newer Corvette pan has better baffles. You will also have to come up with a Camaro/Firebird motor mount for the drivers side. The Gto mount will not work with the Johns kit. If you use the JTR headers, you will also have to relocate the oil pressure sender to the top, rear of the motor. John's adapter will not work with these headers. Mike
  9. Colt, Nice job and really nice documentation. i really like the color too, lol. Mike
  10. I just started searching JY's on the internet. There are a few that specilize in donor cars and drop-out engine/trans packages that include everything you need for an engine swap. There are usually a few on Ebay from reputable dealers. Good luck, Mike
  11. You can or at least could get that shirt at your Nissan dealer. I have one. Mike
  12. Yep, that is the easy way, they know what they are doing. Mike
  13. Looks really, really nice. Your going to need more tire! Enjoy the ride. Mike
  14. Ah, the sweet sounds of success! Very nice. Mike
  15. Those things wear out, I went through several sets from the JY's. Then I put remote electric locks in. Don't have to use the key to unlock anymore so they dont wear out. Mike
  16. I had that problem with the rod for the Chev master cyl. I just cut the head off a bolt the right thread, welded it on to the short rod to extend it, and ground the weld down. Worked great until I changed masters and the tilton had a longer rod. Mike
  17. The only plug in the dash I can find with only those two wire colors is for the seat belt indicator lamp. Have you tried a test lamp at the switch on the tranny or at the bulb socket? That would tell you if your bulbs are bad.
  18. Hook up your wires that went to the Z reverse switch on the trans to the reverse switch on the new trans. Can go either way (doesn't matter which wire goes where). Mike
  19. I had to use the VSS high signal to trigger the CableX box I used to run my stock speedo. I'd guess that would be the same to run your aftermarket guage. Mike
  20. Zed240au, Very nice install, and very clean. You are going to love driving it and it looks like you are getting close. Keep us informed. Mike
