  1. Hi Plata: I could have been more clear. I mean to swap in a stock LS1 drivetrain.
  2. Hey guys. This is David in Jersey City I have a 1974 260Z 2+2 with a Gen I SBC and a 4-speed. Although there wasn't a lot of info available about the car, I was told that the car was formerly a race car in Texas. The car has a roll bar and racing harness. I've had the car a couple of years. I replaced the clutch shortly after getting the car My clutch needs replacement again. And I don't have the time, the garage or the expertise to swap in an LS1/T56 pull-out. If any group members in NJ, PA, NY or nearby who have done an LS1/T56 swap or if you know of a shop nearby who does a good job with these swaps, I will be greatly appreciative. For now, I'm just looking to swap in the stockv drivetrain. And I'm ready to do it now. Thanks. David
  3. Thanks,Joe. I'm looking to do anything nearly as extensive as your friend's project. I've heard that an LS1 in stock form should give me plenty of power so for now I just want to swap a pullout LS1 with a 6 speed into my 260Z. I wouldn't mind changing to a fuel cell or another fuel tank that would allow me to have an exhaust outlet on either side of the tank or fuel cell so that I can use larger mufflers. My car is loud! Hope this helps you come up with a price. Thanks. David
  4. Hey Joe. Great work on your Z. Very nice job. It's nice to find another Z-car guy in NJ. I own a copperhead orange 1974 260Z 2+2 with a Gen I 350cc SB and 4 barrel carb and a 4-speed MT which I bought in 2012 and a white 1975 280Z 2+2 with a bone stock 2.8L and an automatic transmission which I bought in 2012. I'm so tired of the SB's poor fuel economy (10 mph regardless of how I drive it). I'm planning on swapping in a LS1 and T56 from a pull out. The problem is that I own a condo in Jersey City and have absolutely no place to do the swap. No garage, no driveway, nothing. I'm going to have to get someone to do the swap for me and I would love to get some recommendations as to who can do this swap in NJ. Can you do the swap for me? LOL. I heard that JS Performance in Hulmeville, PA does a lot of LS swaps so I called them. It turns out they mostly do swaps into F-bodies. They told me they could do the swap and it will about $10,000, They would be getting the engine and tranny from a wrecking yard in Bristol, PA which might be the same place your friend got his pull out. My preference is to find somebody to do the swap who has actually done an Z-car LS1 swap. Any names would be tremendously appreciated. Thanks.
  5. Hey guys. I it might seem like a silly question but does anyone know if the stock 260z leather shift cover will accommodate a Muncie 4-speed shifter. If not, does anyone know of a shift boot that will fit this combination?

    260Z 2+2 With 383 Stroker

Copper monster with Gen I 383 stroker and 700R4 transmission.
  8. From the album: 260Z 2+2 With 383 Stroker

Just bought this car on July 15, 2011 and picked it up in Albany. It's a Texas car originally so it doesn't appear to have any rust. This car was used for drag racing and has a Muncie close-ratio 4-speed transmission, a rollbar and a racing harness. It has a carbureted 4 barrel engine and it's very fast! I gotta say I would have liked to have had a couple of extra gears driving it home on the highway. I plan on putting in a T5 or a T56 later in the year so I can have an overdrive (please). And to please wifey (and myself), I going put an air conditioner in.
