  1. I have a rich problem too. Iv'e tried everything.....accel bins,leaning maps,..ect...I florr the gas and it misses rich and whole bunch of james bond black smoke comes out....even at idle...hit the gas and rich city. I'm in the same boat as you. I wonder if my MS1 v3.0 is damaged.
  2. I'm currently using MT2.25,on a N/A L28 using a 280zx distributor with stock injectors (MS1 3.0). Is this the one to use or should I use another?
  3. Does fuel requirement of 15.4 sound correct for stock injectors on a L28 N/A?
  4. Well I installed the noise filter and no change. The readings on the datalog look crazy. Maybe Mobythevan is correct. As far as Magnecore wires,eveyone told me to use them so I did. I notice the car will idle fine evenafter warm up. If I turn the car of a start it again it will idle real lean. What would I want to adjust in this case?
  5. On my data logs, after the car has warmed up, the MAP, RPM , and CLT , and O2 has crazy up and down spikes. The TPS read is fine. I just want to eliminate all posibilities. I have mutiple grounds going to the relay board, I am using ngk resister plugs and magnecor wires. I am using all premade harnesses from DIYauto tune. My last resort would be a defective unit. I don't see any resets, which is a good thing. Over kill is better than under kill.

  7. Will this noise filter be ok to use with MS? 25 amp, 350 watts.
  8. I have a brand new pallnet fuel rail with custom fuel rail lines, New Aeromotive fuel regulator, and a new edlebrock fuel filter that is cleanable. I dought it is getting too little fuel because under hard throttle a cloud of black smoke piles out of the tail pipe. Fuel presure is at 30 and is consistant,hit the throttle and the fuel pressure spikes up to about 38 and comes down. I have a Crane Hi 6 for ignition, I ran the tach wire from the HI-6 right to MS. I've tried adjusting the fuel map and accel bins and see no difference with the lean- rich spike. Does it matter the diameter size of the hose going to the map sensor. I have a cam but it is mild- 280/480. The car ran great on the stock sytem.... so it should only run better with MS. I would think a N/A car would be easyer than a turbo car. When would you use alpha -N?
  9. Well my patience is about gone with MS. I can have the car idle perfect for 20 mins or more , the wide band is 14:0 to 15:0. Then it just drops to 18:1 or worse and shakes. I shouldn't have to keep adjusting the fuel at idle after running perfectly for 30 min or more. Damaged MS? No resets shown. The other problem is hitting throttle... it spikes lean 20:1 then pegs rich 10:1 and rises back to where it should be causing the car to buck and have poor performance. I've tried lean maps and rich maps ... no change. And the car on decel pops and back fires and shows 20:1 or worse on the wideband. So do I go to a tuner and spend more than the system cost?
  10. Is it better to use the tach wire off my HI-6 unit then to use the " -" side of the coil?
  11. Phil, what is the modification you are doing to the mega squirt on you tube?
  12. My TPS readings are closed:0 WOT:168 ...are those good values or do I need to adjust. I'm using a 240SX TPS . I read in the manual the WOT should be 178?
  13. I have a factory T-stat of 180. I run cool on the highway but on long stops I can get up to 195-200( according to the factory gauge and an extra digital gauge that I use) The read out on my mega squirt is always a little bit lower 5-10 degrees lower. I don't think the switch is bad because when the car is totally cool the IAT show the same temp as the CLT.Anyways I am waiting for my Magnecore wires and made more grounds for the MS beacause the CLT showed a couple spikes.
  14. I think I fixed the resets. At Idle My CLT on datalog is 167. What should it be?

  20. Well Ms keeps reseting... I tried adjusting fuel cut. That makes the car miss under full trottle in the higer RPMs. 100% fuel cut doesn't make it miss. I am about to throw in the towel.
  21. I've been getting resets off on on with MS. I have Crane HI-6 system using a stock 79 dizzy. I pull the tach signal straight from the HI-6 not the - on the coil. Could my wires cause a reset problem. I've read Magnecor wires are the best choice. My wires are crane fire wires, reactive core type.Ultra-high temperature resistance up to 1,200 degrees F * Unique reactive-core engineered to deliver maximum spark-gap energy to your spark plugs with today's high-output competition ignitions * Filter out RFI and EMI (RFI/ EMI pulsings confuse on-board engine control computers, audio systems, and other electronic devices) * Very low 25 ohm resistance ensures maximum spark-gap energy is delivered to the spark plugs. I would think these would be fine? I even have installed a voltage stabilizer.
  22. I haven't much time to drive the car, had a wisdom tooth pulled. I did change where the tach signal is comming from. I have a crane HI-6 ignition unit. So instead of pulling a signal from the - coil ... I am pulling the signal from there. I also have the decel cut at 100%. SO that's probably why I get back firing on down shifting. But I haven't had a chance to drive the Z yet....hopefully this weekend. Thanks Gavin.
