  1. i hope its possible to put it on a 280z i have a 1977 so if it works out PLEASE let me know. (i'll keep whatchin this thread)
  2. thats look like it but is it me or is the Fiberglass Front BRE Style Air Dam With Ducts missing a bar across the top, efven though it is a more leveled angle of the car on the cover, you can see the vertical part hold another small bar across that sticks out a little under the hood that connect the both, the one that i saw on the site looks like it has the bar in the fron on top, or does it just looked tucked back under the front of the hood?
  3. i saw a sneak peak at nissan sports new cover and i am dieing to find this airdam and lip, i just wrote to msa to see if they have it and am waiting for their reply, but anyone seen this before? this is what the magazine staff wrote to me. ________________________________________________________________ I'm sure MSA has it. I don't know what they have it under but it was developed in teh 70s by Peter Brock for the racing team called the BRE SPOOK...   4. I Took My 1977 280z For Its First Test Drive To See How It Drives, And I Fell In Love With It More Than When I First Bought. But I Noticed When I Was At A Stop Sign For Some Reason The Rpm's Were At 2,000 Once I Had Put It Into First They Dropped To Normal Again. Is Nuetral (while Holding The Brake Down) Suppose To Be A Higher Rpm Then My Idle? My Idle Usually Goes Up To 1500 And Then Drops To About 1000 After A Few Seconds. I Was Told My Car Had A Hold Start But I Never Heard Of This 2000 At A Stop Sign. I Did Go Form 2nd To Nuetral If It Makes A Big Difference Btw.
  5. well i wasnt sure exactly wherte to put it so here it goes...i have not taken out my (miss mounted by the previous owner) dash, but i notice the lights that light my odometers and clocks are pretty dim so i was wondergin if anyone knew whwere and how i can replace those lights and maybe modify them, i wanted to make them light up bright red, let me know..
  6. i plan on getting my alternator and starter rebuilt tomorow,but would also like to order paint for my 1977 280z, i know there is a post of the original formula and color codes for the restoration of z cars, but i do not believe the red i have right now is original code color. i sand down a spot and noticed the car was actually originally yellow. i am going to sand the whoel thing down this weekend but would like to know if anyone knew of a place that i can send a sample of my current red paint to, and they will reproduce the color for me. or figure out the formula, i love the red it has now but need to redo it becasue of the rust problem im am going to get rid of. if anyone knows of a site or business that can identify my red please share

  9. well i figured CGE wasn't around anymore, i guess my real question is... "anybody seen something similar for sale?" ill need to leran more about that showcars site, thats the first time ive ever heard anything bad about them, but then again i never really heard anything good. so if anybody has seen something similar for sale-PLEASE SHARE A LINK!
  10. i have a friend that said he "knows a guy" (oh yes one of those ) that sells 1200 porshe lights, and can put it any car for $225. I have a 1977 280z and was wondering if by anychance i have to replace any specific wiring before i put these lights in. let me know..thanks oh and one more thing i have, like many of us, small rust spots throught out my z, and a fendewr completly rotted throught. i plan to replace the fenders completely with some fenders with flares on them already, but for the parts i would like to salvage. i was talking to a autobody shop guy and wastrying to get an appraisail on how much it would cost to cut the parts and replace them. he says welding was not the answer and that the proper method is to sand down completley the rusted area, and well i didnt really understand it (bad reception) but yea does anyone know what he was talking about? and do you recommend it? i was planning on getting them done at a chemical stripping company, but really dont know which way to get rid of the problem.cutting and welding a patch or sheet metal was the only one i know, i dont want a ghost line or obvious imperfections where the work was done.

  13. anybody actually looked at the atlantic z page, they hvae a article on the arl green enterprises kit, but i can't find it! i want to see it form a different angle, and purchase it if it looks as good, and if possible, anybody know where to get the cge kit?

  15. i had a mechanic look at my 280z (1977), and he got it up and running about 3 months ago, hes was the 3rd mechanic to take alook at it, but he actually got my car to run, he tweaked a small piece, that he explained to me give the engine more gas on idle because the enginge was not recieving enough juice to run, the fan would look like it was trying to turn but never completed a complete rotation, he showed me that i needed an oil change badly, but it would start for now, and it has been sitting there since, i turned it on about a montha ago after like 7 tries, but i notice the CHG light turns (which im not sure if its true but i heard that meant it needs to be changed)on in the volatge meter, this was a problem, i had before with a defective battery from advanced auto parts. now i know the battery can die if you leave something un and the alternator is not helping it recharge but i have never even drivin the thing out of my parking lot and the smaehting is happening, i cleaned the spark plugs that had a black tip, he siad it smells like oil, so i can i get it to stop burning oil, and know if maybe it is getting too much gas? the headers made a clicking noise, that he explained had a leak somehwere in the front, but i just want to ge the thing running decent enough to take it to jiffy lube. i plan on replacing the starter, and alternator soon, even though it has nothign to do wiht the problem, but it would be great to get it running, someone tell me hwo to check if its getting too much gas, and how to get it to stop burning oil, exclude the egos please.

  17. i have a 280z as my first project car, but besides the fact that it needs a oil change and i dont know how to go get it done, cuz the car won't start to go take it their. but my question is (non mechanically inclined question).... doe anyone know of a progrma that i can run off a laptop and and connect it to the car so it can tell me what wrong, kind of like a diagnostic test on my car?
  18. hey guys i was just wondering if anyone can tell me what oil to get i talked to a guy(my mechanic) and he told me to get 40, but not sure what else to get and what spark plugs do i need, the guy at auto zone had no idea what i was talking about. I have a 1977 280z, that needs an oil change, new spark plugs and that little one of the 2 little clips that hold the cap on from my last tune up. anyone know exactly what i should ask for at the counter?

  22. i was walking to a cliente of mine and he was not very social, until the end of the deal and at the end he started talkign to me about my car (1977 280z) and he started to tell me about a rich guy back in the day that had ohne tricked out, but the one feature that stood out the most is he had put 3 carberators in it for the 6 cylinders, he said that small detail lets you keep everyhting original and and give you the power like a v8, if anyone has any info or specs of guides or opinions, please reply, i think i want to give it a try, the other thing is i have a l28 and i was wqondering if i could do it wihtout swapping to l28e
