  1. Hello hybrid z, its been so many years since this thread. Im now 46 years old. After reading through my build thread it brought back so many memories. I still have the car (I'm never selling it) it has seen some upgrades through the years gtx3582r turbo, injectors, standalone..etc. the car is still running like a champ and I have never been inside the engine all stock factory toyota. What's most amazing is how reliable the car has been...I think the only major problem i had is when the stock ecu went out.. Things I would like to do in the future are, totally new wiring throughout the whole car, all new fuel system and lines, stainless exhaust system, new dash and seats, new rear suspension setup.( i did the front a few years ago). Reflecting on this build also brings to light how expensive everything is now...in 2008 I paid $2000 for a 1jzgte and r154 trans...today that would cost 6k or more...my z was only $600 running and driving..now, that is about 4k or 2k for a z with trees growing through it... any kind of build like this now us easily 10-15k from the jump.. and thats not counting what you have to upgrade and replace because the car is 50 years old..lol It was and still is a awesome journey! Currently projects (nothing ever changes😊) 84 chevy c10 super charged 4.8 ls engine swap....should be done soon... 84 rx7, s5 roatry engine, ida weber, wide body, 10x17 all four corners😉...
  2. Is there a bolt-on light weight or aluminum option for the Toyota vented front brake calipers for s30 cars? I currently have the vented toyota upgrade and it's awesome but it would be nice to have a bolt on caliper that was more light weight. The heavy unsprung weight kills you in the corners.
  3. Finally got some paint on my 260z! Its been a 3yr total restoration.. i also did sti diff custom halfsafts..more. more..lol. i took pictures along the way..if you guys would like a break down let me know..
  4. Ok thats seems simple enough; thanks for the reply, has anyone else done this?
  5. Do you guys think there is a tastefull way to modify the 77 door panels to fit? Is the only difference the door lock location? If thats the case i could just drill another hole and cover up the other one....
  6. Thanks for the reply, i might have to go with those; however i wanted the factory look if its possible.
  7. Guys need some help, im restoring my 1jz 260z and looking for some new door panels..i have looked everywhere but cant seem to find them new...i have found 240z or 280z door panels but no 260z.....i have a early 260z.. its been a while since i posted, please be kind..lol
  8. This summer I plan on swapping in my '07 sti r180 .. And of course I'm researching axles, I'm fine with going with the side adapters; if its possible i would like try something a little stronger.. Question is do you guys know if the 280zx CV axles 27 spline will plug in the 27 spline sti r180 diff? I have a 260z with single turbo 1jz under the hood that will have around 420whp when tunned.. I'm just not sure the stock half shafts can hold up to light drag racing, or track days...
  9. Wow, the thread is still going.. I used a first gen rx7 throttle cable.
  10. Which diff is better to use? Clutch or Torsen. I thought clutch was best
  11. The reason i made this post was to combine our minds on a common goal to see if i was missing anything from what i was already thinking...if that makes sense; the conclusion i came to is to make it work you would have to change a substantial amount of the s30 layout and body to get close...Something that would take away from what is special about the s30.. Now lets discuss a middle ground in detail...is tokico the best option we have for performance and comfort? How about power steering; What rack is the best that we can use?
  12. I see what you are saying, but a car like that can only be enjoyed in spurts, which i know is just fine for some..
  13. Well i agree you can't have extremes on either end....theres a reason exotic's cost as much as they do..
