I think I figure it out. The distributor cap was loose and caused the rotor to cut into it. I'm going to replace both and see how it runs.

It does it hit or cold. It just recently started to do it. It started a little after I got new distributor cap, spark plugs, spark plug wires, and threw some Lucas in to clean the injectors.

My 1982 280zxt has been getting dangerously low rpm at idle. It will stutter and die. Once it gets moving though, it is fine. Any ideas as to what is causing this?

I had the alternator checked before I bought it. It passed all tests.

I pulled the negative cable off while the car was running and it died. So it is something dealing with the alternator. What is weird is I just put in a new alternator. It can't be the alternator. Is there another explanation? Is it the wrong alternator? Cables? I have no friggin idea.

Randomly when I'm driving, the door brake and fuel light will come on. Sometimes the battery light will slightly glow. Anyone know what this means?

The battery lasts for quite awhile. Then the battery light will come on. Then the lights will dim slowly. Then the car just starts to stutter. So, I'm going to have to get a whole new alternator?

My Z has been dying on me while driving. Luckily I have a battery charger, but I can't do that forever. I got my alternator replaced awhile ago. It was working pretty well for a few months, but the battery started dying again. So, I had my alternator checked at AutoZone. They said the battery and alternator seemed fine, but they say the voltage regulator is the cause. So my question is, where exactly is the voltage regulator in a 1982 280zxt? How do I replace it? Its nearly all stock; L28ET. Thanks in advance.

How do I check if its the turbo? I can't really tell exactly where its coming from, but its in the front of the car.

I have a 1982 280zx Turbo. I have had the car for about five months, and it starting making this whistling/screeching when I accelerate. I saw some things online saying it could be the intake being lose or some kind of chain being messed up. I have no idea really what it is. If anyone could help a fellow Z driver, I would be greatly appreciative.
