  1. Thanks for the resource, found a couple that were what I'm looking for. This. Even at 30k I don't see it being worth the money, its the same with people wanting 20k for a 100k+ mile E46 M3. You can get a decent E39 M5 or a W211 E55 for that price.
  2. Yeah, I understand that. I'm not looking for a rust free car. I just don't want something I'm going to have to gut to fix. 30k for a Z? What are these people on?
  3. So I sold my 260 I got from JSM a few years ago and bought a old AMG Mercedes. The Z bug is back again and I miss my old car and decided I wanted another Z. Pretty much I'm looking for a good running 240Z I'd prefer it to be mostly stock or slightly modified. I'm looking for a carb car that I can put a decent motor in along with triples. Can I get what I want for 5-7k these days? When I got my 260 and ultimately sold it they were much cheaper then. I'm not exactly ready to buy just yet and I'm trying to find out what's changed in the Z world and where things stand on pricing for a good driver car. A/C is a must, it doesn't have to work as long as all the parts are there. As far as rust goes, I'm okay with surface rust. I just don't want to have to replace panels. My AMG is already a rust bucket, I don't need another. Thanks guys, you've always been great.
  4. Yeah, but I've decided against a new gas tank. Going a head and getting a fuel cell and putting the fuel system together now.
  5. Need a gas tank and fuel pump from a 77-78 EFI 280Z. Let me know.
  6. Not sure yet. But, I'll have my friend hit you up if it doesn't.
  7. That's the purpose of the cage, just to stiffen the body, added safety, and it just looks cool.
  8. Go with a TKO. GM T-5s are easy to break.
  9. No 240z in 76. Only 70-73. I thought you said the 240 was a 72
  10. I'll wire in a smaller one, it's no big deal. Haven't gotten a clam shell, I still gotta take a pic of the only interior piece I'm missing. Friend of mine is buying a 240Z parts car with a L28 and a 5-speed tomorrow. So Between mine, and his Z were going to strip it for parts. Small update, got some good Supra 440cc injectors for $40 today.
  11. Cool, I'll look that up. Thanks. Anytime really. Just shoot me a text. Me and a friend will get under it , and pull the tank. Another question I had was, I assume the original L26 had a clutch fan, correct? The fan that was in this car was hitting the crank pulley, and it seems as if the car as started like this, as the fan has a spot where the casing had been ground down from something rubbing against it. The far is hard wired in. I'm assuming I will need to use a smaller hard wired fan?
  12. We are going to, but the carbs are a back-up option. I personally would rather get the EFI working, I want the turbo in the car, but I'm too anxious to drive it lol. If you wanna stop by your more than welcome to. Shoot me a text, or call me. Me and a friend are probably going to mess with it some this week, but most of the work gets done on the weekend. We'll see what happens, going to get the starter checked out today, just gotta pull it. I'm also thinking I'm not getting fuel to the motor as well, not sure if there is even any gas in the tank, might be a good idea to put some in there first. Lol. On another note, how do you guys get the battery to mount in the stock tray? Or better yet, how did they mount stock? Also, a friend of mine has a shop next to some guys who build cages for cars, he's good friends with them, and I got a quote for $800 for a 6 point cage, with provisions to mount racing harnesses. I wouldn't do it until I got the car running and driving. What do you guys think? I'm probably going to pick up the J-Spec body kit from the Z store next pay check.
  13. Another update, good friend of mine bought a 240Z, with a carbed L28. I'm buying everything needed to swap a carb system back into the car for $300. I'm ditching the EFI for now, not really interested in messing with it. Should get the parts pretty soon and will have the EFI and turbo parts up for sale soon as well.
  14. Did some work on it today, put oil in the motor, water in the radiator, battery, and tried to see if she would start. All I got was the clicking of the starter, so we are thinking start is bad, as well as no fuel. Going to try that either over the course of the week, or this weekend.
