I had the same thing happen once.
The road was empty, the cop was hidden, and I didn't even have the pedel floored. 700 feet from the light, Poncherello warned me about how he could write me up for "exibition of speed". I asked him, how is is an exibition if nobody is around to enjoy the show? I certainly wasn't showing off, and especially not for him.

My dad, uncles and a couple his military budddies created a drag racing team and they called themselves Dudeboy Racing. Check this picture out from Carlsbad, Calif. in 1969.
By the way that is my dad driving !!!!!!!
Way cool pic!
I raced at Carlsbad a couple of times. I was sad to see that po-dunk dragstrip with the uphill runoff disappear a couple years back.

I wouldn't reccomend the Taurus radiator to anyone.
I went through 5 of them one summer before I wised-up and bought an aftermarket 3-row.
The Ford fan set-up is another story, works great!

My avitar pic has a Z movie car as well.
Can you see it through the smoke?
Can you name the movie?
I used to own a movie car....er, truck rather, once also.
I had a 521 that was in the original "Gone in 60 seconds" in the car wash scene. I used to brag about that but, nobody cared. lol.

What is with those clear wheels? Are they like really thick lexan or something?
The wheels, (D'Vinci Forgiato Radurra), are polycarbonate and, cost a mere $2k a piece.
