  1. That engine is on the site Racerx threw in is pretty much the exact engine including the quad carbs. Although this engine has them turn upwards to create room on the side...might have some hood clearance issues, but I'll cross that bridge later.

I can't wait to here that sound under the slow curves of the GTO glassed body.

Dot, do you have any shots of fitting it in? Motor mounts, dash and firewall clearance, etc. How's it look shoe horned in there?

    Thanks

  2. Just picked up a Jaguar v12 with a multiple weber set-up and turbotrans.

    Pretty happy about it.

Here's my question...after looking through the threads and searching posts I can't find anyone here who has done this swap. Most of the references are something like: "I know a guy..."

So... has anyone still posting at HybridZ swapped a jag v12 into a Zcar?

(below pics are just examples off the net of the same type of engine I bought.)

  3. Now the proud owner of a v12 Jag engine with four dual throat webers and a tranny. Very cool hot rodder sold them to me for a song. He had a v12 '26 ford roadster - beautiful, and didn't need the spare stuff.

The thing is gorgeous. I'll get photos up soon.

  4. Here's some guy in California selling a Kellison PANTHER J-6 Body.

If you look in the background you can see a red Z-based GTO, a gold DeTomaso Mangusta (Love this car - rear shot, looks like a 71 pontiac firebird but you can see the split rear window and vents.) and a red Cobra kit body.

There are a few other cars barely distinguishable in the background. A couple are in the barn with the Mangusta - One is red has pop up lights - could be anything - Jalpa, Fiero, Stratos, X19 - the other way in back looks like it could be a black cheetah?

Way out to the front drivers side of the Kellison, as seen from a shot through the rear window, looks like either the rear corner of a Corvair or a Dino Kitcar or perhaps the front of old BMW, Audi, or VW Rabbit with the headlights and grill punched out. It's pretty fuzzy. Frankly it could be anything.

So seeing the GTO got me wondering - Is this any one here?

and secondly how much for the empty propane canister?

  5. Also now listed on ebay at a simlilar price-point to the 2+2: A Ferrari testarossa for $62,000 BINow, a Pantera GTS for $69,000 BINow, an Aston Martin DB7 Convertable $50,000 BINow, 1967 Pontiac GTO 400 W/ M#s $27,750 BINow, and a 1962 Jaguar XKE Roadster for $59,770 BINow.

...I'm guessing he has trouble getting 60,000 for his car...

But here's the real Ebay keeper - 16 bids already:

  6. Mike, What are you doing under the hood?

My refurbished tank comes back next week - Tank and a fuel pump is pretty much what it needed. Came with all the goods, Corbeau racing seats and harnesses, hardware, trim, carpet, rims, badges etc. etc.

...Course I've got to finish out the body too. I have a few ideas there.

Problem is I have way too many projects right now a couple of antique motorcycles, old musclecars, old rovers, but the deal was too complete to pass up.

Is there anyone else here besides Chelle and Speed who have these or are building one? (that includes Velo Rossas etc.) Doesn't Oz have one?

  7. How many individuals here have one of these either complete or in the works?

This is mine as it sat when I picked it up. I'll post some new ones soon. Post upyour favortite shot of yours, even if it's panels are spread out in your lawn.

  8. Another gem from the questions section:

Q: You have no idea how excited I am about this vehicle! For some time now I have been tormented by my conscience and only now after seeing this auction realise my true destiny! The streets of Cheadle Heath, Stockport, England have been taken over by scum and filth and need cleaning up! With your help I'm going to do it! As such, my identity is top secret and I spent all last night making my crime fighting costume from brown potatoe sacks & fire brigade wellies! I tested it this morning by putting the rubbish out for Mrs Moulton and repairing a puncture in one of the local kids bmx tyres and neither of them recognised me! Should I win your auction, I am going to paint the M400X brown and anchor 8 20ft lengths of rope (made from sisal) at regular points arount its perifery and tie knots in them for knees and feet. Then in the evening, I shall flit about in the air, striking fear into the hearts of my enemy, before scorching them to death with my thrusters! Love..Daddylonglegsman.AKA Walt X

A: The downwash air temperature of the M400X prototype is only about 4 degrees higher than ambient conditions. Hope this doesn't put a crimp in your plans.

BTW the bidding is already up to 2.5 mil
