  1. Hi, the swap will be done in the next days. I wanted to swap the seats first because my 911 needs his place in my garage. Doing an engine swap is ok, but swapping the seats needs more space, thats why i started there. I have all the parts for my swap, but if youre arround Bielefeld youre welcome to visit me I still dont know what to do with the rear end. It should hold at least arround 300HP, 500HP would be better. How can i solve this?
  2. I installed one of the S2000 seats, Rb wheels are also on. I opened another topic, dont know what to do with the diff.
  3. Is there any topic with a build of a different diff for a s30? Im doing the first rb25 swap in germany, we have maybe 10 of them left in Germany so there is no real source for information here Found every kind of information for the engine swap, engine loom and brakes, but nothing about the diff.
  4. I have no clue. How can i find out the differences? The inside of the diff will be swapped anyways to a quaife, im afraid of breaking the half-shafts.
  5. Hi Guys, my wheels and tyres arrived, i made some pictures. I have some blue lowering springs which were in the car when i bought it. My FG flares will arrive next week and i plan to install them. Is the car low enought for them??? The tyres are 275/40/17 and 245/40/17 from Toyo R1R. As they are like semi-slicks, how much will the diff hold? My plan was to start with the stock RB25 power, get to 300HP and upgrade to 500HP in the next Winter. Is a quaife diff and some stronger u-joings enought for that? My driveshaft hast 4x M8 bolts, doesnt really look strong to be honest. I dont want to buy a quaife for a lot of money and then swap it to a 300zx diff anyways after 5 pulls. Quaife is ok from the pricing, can buy it in England, shipping and costs are under 1000$. Thanks for your help!!
  6. Hello, the car arrived last week. What a horror with picking it up at Rotterdam/Holland and the customs....but now im glad its here. Im waiting for some parts to arrive. Ordered some Honda S2000 seats, hope they will fit in. Engine mounts should arrive next week, Q45 throttle body is parked at our customs office. I also ordered some RB Rota in 9 and 9,5x17 in gunmetal. Engine is ready for the swap, cant wait to get this ugly piece of iron out of my Datsun im not sure if i should stay with the stock turbo for the start, or make it a GT35 or upgrade the stock turbo. Im not sure right now, but i guess the stock turbo will bring enought fun for the beginning. Will put it on 0,85 bar. Im not sure what to choose as a brake upgrade, any ideas? Here is my personal "Assparade" Guess it will get more equal when i get the fenders and the 9.5x17 wheels on the Datsun
  7. How much HP/TQ will the quaife diff and the new U-Joints hold? Im always looking for the easiest way, building custom diff fixing points will throw back my project to much. I want to get the car running as fast as possible
  8. Hi David, replace the cheap fpr, buy one from aeromotive. I had the same problem on one of my supras, fuel pressure was unstable even i had two high power fuel pumps. Bought a aeromotive fpr and the fuel pressure was ok. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Titan-Motorsports-Combo-Aeromotive-A1000-Regulator-Fuel-Pressure-Gauge-/130590787422?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&vxp=mtr&hash=item1e67d1475e Its not that all the cheap parts are bad, but you have a lot more faulty parts than from good brands. If you buy 10 cheap fpr, mostly 3 of them are not working how they should.
  9. I can get z32 parts here in Germany. What does fit and what do i need? http://www.ebay.de/itm/Nissan-300ZX-3-0-V6-Twin-Turbo-/110756821038?pt=DE_Autoteile&hash=item19c99ef82e He is breaking the car and has all the parts, does the z32 diff fit plug and play beside the welding of the half shafts to fit in my 4 bolt axles? Does it have a LSD? Replacing the U-Joints would be fine for me with a quaife diff: http://www.turbophile.com/technical/uni_joints.html If the Z32 diff also has a LSD it would be cheaper. Here is one from the UK: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NISSAN-300ZX-Z32-TWIN-TURBO-LSD-DIFF-DIFFERENTIAL-/220784696248?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item3367cb1bb8
  10. Hi, TÜV will be another 1.500€, same price as for a R34GTR. "Normal" TÜV is arround 150€, but special cars need special tests which you have to pay in Germany. This is the price you have to pay when you dont have any speed limit. The cars have to be in a good condition, brakes, lights and the wheels have to run free without any body contact. If you change your wheels or exhaust, you have to go there and an engineer will test it to make sure you are not a danger for other people on the road.
  11. Hi, I would like to get a painting in my garage. My 260Z will stay on a special place, so i need a logo on the wall behind it. I need something with a higher resolution, 800x600 as a minimum. Does anybody know where i can find a JPG oder whatever to use it? Thanks Eddie
  12. 1.500€ are 1.900$ I can sell my RB25 for 1.300€ and the RB26 will cost me 2.800€ (incl. loom and ecu) So the difference i have to pay if i want to go for a RB26 is 1.500€ Im not sure if its worth it. My plan was to stay with 0.9 bar on the RB25 which will produce arround 320HP, but im not sure if i will get bored of it to quickly. If that happens, and im sure it will happen quick, i would have to spend 1.200€ for an upgrade turbo and bigger injectors on the RB25. One of my best skills is to calculate things until they look like a good deal for me But i will wait until my car arrives. Right now its in the middle of the atlantic sea, if the ship sinks i will have two engines and no Datsun to drop it in...car will arrive on the 4th of November.
  13. I have a good offer for a RB26 engine. The RB25 is allready bought but if i go for over 400HP it would be easier with the RB26. Its more money now, but i dont have to upgrade the turbo and injectors for 400HP. My skyline tuner (Sky Engineering from Holland) gets them to 430HP with stock turbos and a remap with our 102 octane fuel. I would not have to buy a new intake manifold, i hate the piping over the head on the stock RB25. What do you think? If i sell the RB25 i would have to pay 1.500€ more for the RB26. Is it worth the money?
  14. Hi Dave, i had the -5 turbos on my r34 gtr. They made 550whp at 1,9 bar. It was a dyno where the 4wd was unplugged and we took the power from the rear wheels. Head was stock beside the 254 HKS cams. 550rwhp iss arround 600 at the engine. If you wont to go for 700 choose the -10 turbos. http://www.myvideo.de/watch/6674140/skyline
  15. Thanks David, I think the Quaife route will be the cheaper route for me, as shipping wont be that expensive and i can use the axles. What kind of upgrade would be nessesary when i take the stock axles? How much HP will they hold as a stock part? Like i said, a friend of mine is building axles and driveshafts the whole day for living. He could weld in a stronger middle part in the axles as ive seen a broken one on "Z-Club" forums. But i dont know how much HP he had to break them.
  16. Hi, wich size do the speedhut dials have? I would like to order them for my project. My car has not arrived yet, but i would like to order them.
  17. sounds interesting, how much is the sti diff? quaife takes 750€ for that datsun lsd diff, 645gbp.
  18. our fuel prices are crazy. i was in the usa this summer, people yelling arround about fuel prices there....ours is more than double but i have a company car, dont have to pay the fuel for it. im driving my cars just for fun i have some questions because i have to order some parts next week. here is my plan, if you have any other ideas, post them. im buying the engine mounts from mcginney, mr wong isnt building them anymore, any other source for that? im also ordering the rb25 downpipe, they dont have it in their webside but in their shop, 230$. is the throttle cable kit (119$) worth the money or is it easy to swap on my own? where can i get a cheap oil pan? my plan was to order ist for 499$ from enjukuracing but they dont answer my emails and dont have a phone number on their webside. if have seen someone offering the welding of the stock one here in the forum, is this still actuall? who offers them, dont need a fancy one, just something that does the job. i can weld on my own, if i could see how it has to be done, i could do it on my own, any topic here in this forum? i wanted to order the fenders, gfk bumpers front/back and front spoiler from the Z store.shipping is really expensive to germany. they only send it with fedex express. usps is not an option. i need some disc brakes at the back. which is the best option? modern motorsport? z-store? which kit is mostly used by you? is there any other online store i can compare prices or might get all the parts from one adress (found mcginney, zstore, modern motorsport, enjuko)? shipping costs are really high, and i loose a lot of money because im ordering from 3 different stores... is there any shop in the uk? shipping costs would be much cheaper from there...for example, bumpers and fenders are 420$ shipping costs....ordering the RB wheels from rota UK is only 40 gbp shipping costs for all four.
  19. ok, thanks im happy to see that its a one part driveshaft, thats easier to get the exact lenght. what kind diff has my 260z from 74? also a long nose?
  20. the "autobahn" is 5 min driving from me. we dont have speed limits, only in some areas but there are not many in my area but i prefer my 911 for that. fast from factory, good brakes and you can push it from hamburg to munich with full throttle
  21. we have 50 Z cars in germany, most are 280z and zx. i guess there wont be more than 3 260z here in germany. i have never seen one on the streets, and i dirve a lot the r34gtr was really nice. when it was finally finished after 9 months i let my best friend drive it. he supported me with driving and bringing parts etc. and i thought it would be a nice bonus to let him drive. he lost control in a corner and crashed the car at a tree, i was sitting on the passenger seat. never gave me a buck for the accident and i sold the car with the accident. friendship and money gone, thats why you should never vest cars or girls
  22. hi guys, im from germany and would like to build the first RB260Z in my country. i could need some help, because there is no one i can ask here in my area i would like to intodruce myself and use this topic for my endless questions i had a lot of import cars, single build supra mk4 (600hp), single build r34gtr (750hp), r33gtr (350hp), r32gtr(400hp) and r34gtt (stock). i had some tries in mapping and build some engines on my own. now im looking for a new challenge and bought a 260z. i was in california for holidays, my plan was to buy a supercharger kit for my 911 at VF engineering but they were closed that day. i was really pissed because i left disney land earlier for that buy and they had inventory on that day. so i started to look for a car to get a nice souvenier, found my 260z, called a cab to go there, fell in love and bought it. the car will arrive in the beginning of november, cant wait to see it again im glad i didnt buy this supercharger, 911 are best when they are stock, its a daily driver and i dont want any problems with it. here are some pictures of my cars: gtt and gtr 32 perfect condition and toyo888, really nice when it comes to cornering my 750hp r34 gtr, build by sky engineering in holland on the dyno, 4wd shaft disconnected: my 911: and my new love all skylines are gone, my 911 and the 260Z will stay here. i only have space for two cars in my garage i allread bought a rb25 and a r33gtst gearbox. my plan is to go for 500hp on the stock block. engine mounts will be from mckinney, im not sure about the other stuff i will buy, hope you can help me with some decisions. thanks eddie
  23. i will buy some mckinney mounts. is 1-2mm longer or shorter ok? is there a unfixed part of the shaft that regulates lenght differences (dont know the english word for it, sorry) ? im going for 450whp max. is a lsd worth the money for street driving and maybe 10% track? is there any lsd that fits plug and play in the oem diff housing? if yes, how much is it and where to buy? thanks for your help
  24. hi, does anybody know the length of the driveshaft for a rb swap? i have the rb and the 260z driveshaft. a friend of mine can weld and balance it, but he need to know how long it should be after all. is the stock diff ratio ok for driving or is it to short? how much HP can it handle and does it have a LSD? its a 1974 260Z from CA. thanks eddie
