Well I live in a really small town so I cant really get any piping made and I recently bought the Isuzu NPR intercooler and was wondering is there any good intercooler piping kits for the 280zx? I know you need a 45 degree bend for around the stock distributor and fan.. If anyone has ordered a kit that worked for their 280zx or know of one, let me know please?

Bogs like starving for fuel, but also seems rich? Blue smoke blows out when I crank it up, then immediately goes away.
-
I do not have a air compressor but will try that. My fuel pressure was 2psi below normal before the new pump, I have not checked it since.

bumppp for a unsolved mystery??

OK *UPDATE* I went to a local shop that deals with Nissan and other import's for like 35 years. My timing was off and said I needed a new distributor cap and rotor. OK so I get that replaced nothing changed, and the guy had no clue what else it could be, but when I arrived at the shop he said he tried pinching off the fuel line at the fuel pressure regulator and it ran like a champ. So he said I needed a new fuel pressure regulator. OK so I get that replaced nothing changed, at this point I'm already furious because I waited a week just for the regulator and this is my daily driver. I took the car home just because I was spending too much money on just trying pointless things. My friend that owns a turbo 260Z came over to help me try to find out whats going on, after about a hour he decided it was my fuel pump not putting out enough pressure because you can run it without the regulator pinched off and it runs A lot better but not perfect. But the fuel pressure was checked 2 times before and was slightly low but good. Once at this shop and once by myself personally. OK so I get the fuel pump replaced today along with a new fuel rail and guess what? Nothing changed.... WTF COULD THIS BE? Relay or injector is about the only thing left, ive dumped over $900 just trying to fix a fuel problem. ANY ADVICE would be HELP please!

Which one of these fuel pumps do I need for a 82 280zx stock replacement? Two of them look like they are for inside a fuel tank even though I thought these cars did not have that. Or if someone has a source to a fuel pump for my car let me know thanks! link ----> http://shop.nissanpartstore.com/brand.php?make_text=nissan&model_text=280zx&ml=280-zx-002&year=1982&part_name=fuel_pump&my=1

Ok I recently had a problem with my 82 280zxt having hesitation problems that would occur every couple days then go away, then come right back. So after not finding anything reading the EFI bible and checking everything I took it to a local shop that deals with Nissan's for 38 years. Well now they are saying the timing is moving by itself, somehow slipping. He said its like 40 degree's off timing! Ive had problems before with timing and had 2 blown headgasket's so this may be my problem?? But not sure yet gonna be a another day before he can get to it, something about distributor bushings may be worn? I figured something like this would be the timing chain tensioner? But I guess it could be a lot of things... If anyone has any input it would be great, because I really am anxious on what could be causing this. Or if anyone has ever had this problem?

Throttle position sensor?

Thank you! Was worried -
Well on my 82 turbo zxt my TPS has 3 prongs (connectors) but my plug has only 2 wires going to it, is this normal? I checked up the sleeve of the harness some and it isnt cut off anywhere... wtf :/
-
Timing Light said it was perfect, I blew a headgasket before because the timing was way too advanced, its right on the money now (or says the timing light) The dizzy is retarded all the way, and Ive already moved it once from up under. I use 93 octane every time I fuel up.

Linkage is good, just checked it and tightened it some, no difference there.

Okay I just got done cleaning all electrical, and checked all my vacuum, its running very close to 5psi but when my car shifts(auto) it moves to 6-7 psi but then back down to 5psi a second later... wtf? I changed my plugs last week with ngk's so I know it is not them. I guess i'm gonna try to test my fuel pressure tommorow and see what it is reading. Any more help would be great, I thought boost was suppose to drop during shifts but In this case its opposite..
-
No wideband, no fuel pressure gauge, but I guess I can borrow a friends to check it, yes its stock and and stock electronics.
-
All I have is cold air intake, retard the spark eh? Ive turned the cap as far as it will go retarded.. runs worse the other way.
-
I just recently installed a boost gauge and its pinging at 4 psi, shouldnt stock boost be around 7? IF so what can cause to run such low boost?
-
Uhm, Ive read it through, and not to be a ass but you have said with 10 other people have told me. "Read the EFI Bible" Yeah well it hasnt helped me, ive checked almost everything possible electrical with a multimeter. Im not trying to be a douche but I have quite a lot of time on my hands after work its all Ive done is READ and ive gotten no where from checking things in the "EFI Bible". I have NOT thrown junkyard parts on my car, but my TPS became corroded so I replaced the plug with a N/A TPS not knowing this till later down the road, so thats why I was nicely asking if this could be a problem... ? This is my daily driver so its very frustrating asking for a ride everyday when your car runs like pure crap, sorry if I came off as ignorant but im just getting stressed! I will try to get a service manual, my haynes seems to really do me no good.
-
yeah it shows 5 psi normally, and I feel it.
-
Heh no one knows, even a mechanic that came over to look at it/and drive it. Really odd, this is my luck though with cars, I dunno about my TPS ive replaced it once with a junkyard TPS off a N/A, would this make a difference?
-
Wow I have done almost everything for the EFI, all my injectors are firing, I have dropped my gas tank and had it professionally cleaned.. And its running even worse today im seriously just pissed off, I do not know what else to do except for trying new fuel pump or new injectors. Its running like a 2 horsepower go cart, takes about 30 minutes to get to 60mph on the way home. I know this has something to do with fuel for sure, it seems to pick up acceleration when you let off the gas like its getting not enough or too much fuel. Could this even be my AFM??? But since it only happens every few days then I didnt think so??? SO if anyone thinks they know, I am willing to try anything at this point, because I am fed up and want to give up and maybe sell it... this problem has been off and on for about 2 months and no one knows!
-
When I first got my car there was a spool sound from the turbo, ya know the normal whistle spool sound. But lately I have not heard that, mostly just a air sucking sound... Why is this? Old turbo needs rebuilt or what? only have cold air intake and exhaust on the car, stock turbo.. 6psi
-
Also wanted to add that my car idles at 1000 rpms, this is a bit high eh? Has a sputter in the idle too.
-
know what? faulty pump?
-
Ive done all of the above, even cleaned all electrical with electric cleaner and let it all dry out good. No difference what so ever im really getting fed up with this honestly, my car will not go any faster than a go cart when its running in these situations, and only will boost to 2psi. Seems as if a gas problem though, because it accelerates faster when im light on the throttle but when I'm WOT it wont move, I also get intake pop every now and then, this is my daily driver and its driving me nuts ! Any more input would be great ... thanks

Every few days my car wants to run like pure crap, then it will all of the sudden clear up then pure crap again after the next day or 2, could this be something in my gas tank or old fuel lines?
