  1. He already has a 3600 rpm converter and he says it seams slow. I say go with a looser converter. My first Z I took draging was a low compression 350, 8.5 comp, 1 5/8 headers 750 dp holley with a 5500 stall converter, it ran 10.90's with a 26X8.5X14 slick. That was with a TH350 trans. with a 3500 converter it was a slug, like pulling a skier out of the water with a old 25 horse evenrude out board. Call Coan and get a 8" converter for it and wake it up.

  2. Well, I just can't go along with the, kick Comp Cams, group here. I have used their cams and lifters for years with no problems.Keep a eye on your valve lash and spring pressure and you are not going to have a problem. I had them grind my last custom grind cam and it checked out perfect. Give them the lobe profile you want with the LSA and base circle and no problem. You need to make sure things are right when you are putting it together just not bolt it in and go. Check for spring bind, retainer to guide clearance, installed height, get the right length push rod, check for binding. Degree the cam in with accurate equipment, and double check everything.

  3. am I the only one' date=' thinking this is being sold because the necessary extra parts are either far to expensive or not available at all?

keep in mind that the heads were VERY LIMITED PRODUCTION, ARE OUT OF PRODUCTION,and cost $3500 plus valves and springs (easily $1000 more)

    plus

(notice $1200) rockers and offset roller lifter cost similar)

youll easily have $6000 or more in running heads

just the ofset rockers and lifter could cost you several thousand, more

and Im thinking ,a small block head with a 319cc port size is not likely to be usable at less than about a 450 displacement our under 5500rpm

then, the thought comes to mind, AIR FLOW RESEARCH BIG BLOCK HEADS flow similar numbers but with slightly larger ports and have the advantage of both larger valves and a splayed valve layout, and a larger bore size, so I doubt the flow numbers are at the standard 28" vacume reading or taken with a 4.25" bore fixture which is about max on a sbc aftermarket block[/quote']

Hey Grumpy, you don't want to leave all your money to your kids do you? LOL. The only reason you make it is to spend it. Think I am going to die broke but happy.

  4. When you are riding pretend you are invisable. People look right at you and pull out. My bike riding days are gone for now. Had a 72 H2 750 kaw. RD 350's RD 400's RZ 350, GS 1100 suz. all gone now. Got my father in laws old 1943 45 Harley flat head. old 50's custom I need to get down here. Will probable just use it to putt around town on a Sunday morning when there isn't too much trafic. Be carefull, don't need to lose a Z car guy.

  5. Dr. Hunt is right, it won't work. I don't know if you have a seperate fuel supply for the nitrous but you can run the nitrous with alky. I know guys running alky with nitrous and using alky instead of gas with the nitrous so I guess you could run the engine on gas and use alky in the nitrous system. I would just spray more nitrous when the weather got hotter.
