  1. allright it was the EGI relay, its one of the green ones under the passanger side of the dash. I asked my buddies at the parts department at my local nissan dealership and he printed me out a detailed picture of the harness and the relays , and said if your computer wont come on, try the egi relay, and it worked!!. Thanks for all your help guys, i can race again!!
  2. where is the eccs relay? And my fuel pump is comming on, however the signal to the distributor is cut. I replaced the ignition control moduel on saturday, and nothing as well. All the grounds are good. I'm Stumped.
  3. I ran the piss out of it to test the charge pipes thursday night, everythig was good so i pulled it into the driveway and shut it off. Got off work friday night, ready to go to the race track, went to fire it up to put it on the car trailer, and all it will do is turn over. So I looked over at my computer under the dash and there are NO lights glowing on it. So i tried a different ECU on saturday and nothing. So there are 3 plugs going to the ECU, With a test light I tested the one with the bigger wires Assuming these were the inputs, and I have power comming out of like 5 or six of them. Does anyone have a Pinout for the ECU, If I know what the grounds are, I can Diagnose it a little better, cause Im thinking a ground has come loose or something.
  4. I git an ECU from the junk yard, Thats not the problem, anybody know what color wires are the main power wires for the ECU?
  5. Hey its me again the guy with the turbo z motor in the hardbody, anybody got an 86 turbo computer for sale, i need one, I think mine has died.
  6. Alright Jason and all you guys out there that bolted turbo's on your n/a 300zx's, I got 1 for you. Are you guys still running the N/a computer or did you swap that out for the turbo computer? The reason I ask is because I want the wiring for my transmission so that I can have first gear. I gutted a 300zx that had a manual transmission, so my wiring harness doesnt have the automatic tranny computer or the harness for it. If i dont need a turbo computer, I can pull what i need from an N/a 300zx. Can any of you guys tell me if i need the entire harness from the N/a or if i can just pull the engine computer, the tranny computer, and the harness for the transmission? HELP. 93 nissan hardbody (Barney) running 13.5 at 105mph no bottle,18psi of toyota supra intercooled boost on a stock t3 ,stock internals, and an automatic transmission from a 91 infinity j30, without first gear, on 17 inch rims and 40 series ZR tires, with a hardbody rear and a hardbody fuel pump! 7. I have a wet NOS system, the shark nozzel holds and distributes the fuel and the nitrous. You have to run wet for a forced induction engine dont you?
  8. I can understand replaceing the fuel pump, I get that part, but the fuel problem only started when I added the NOS. I've been running this truck with 15psi of boost for over a year and a half with no problems, my plugs burn brown with the NGK6's anyway, and my air/fuel meter reads lean at idle and excellent when im gettin on it. So if I put a better fuel pump on it I should be able to get it to work with stock plugs, right?
  9. So going against the reccomendations of the import haters at the local dragstrip I shot my little purple truck with the Z motor with a 75 shot of nitrous. 12:40 at 110mph and I blew a charge pipe at the 1000 foot mark and that was with a 2.4 60 foot time. So I fixed the pipe when I got home, and for the hell of it, I pulled the #1 plug from the cylinder head. GHOST WHITE!, Way lean. Didn't hear any knocking at all. Ran Beautifully,Except for the charge pipe. What can I do to fix this lean condition?. Here are the Specs. 1986 300zx turbo intercooled boost at 15psi, 110 Octane fuel, Timing set at 18 degrees btdc 1993 Nissan Hardbody Fuel pump, Stock NGK plugs (heat rating of six, gapped at .044) I just changed the plugs to NGK's again but I went with a 7 with a .044 gap. Now it runs like crap like its fouling the plugs with 2 much fuel, any suggestions?
  10. can i use a ka24e block with a ka24de head? Are then blocks the same?
  11. Guess I should have searched harder before i started tapping on the keyboard, I found some information on it the forum elsewhere
  12. Hey did you ever get that information on the transbrake setup on the 4n71b?
  13. anybody out there have any info on installing a transbrake in an automatic z31 or z32 automatic transmission?
  14. 13:80 in the quarter automatic transmission,no first gear 10 psi of boost, Bov leaks after 10 Low profile street tires 207 rwhp 280 ft/lbs of torque nissan hardbody pickup 2800 lbs with the driver this year i will have the tranny fixed, a new bov so I can run like 15lbs or so, and 100 shot of nitrous, then we will go from there. here is the timeslip:
  15. Well, somebody answer me this cause im stupid I guess, Did they make TURBO z31's with an automatic transmission, or were they all manual? I know some of the older nissan/jatco transmissions were vaccuum shifted. And that solves the electronic problem, but what happens when your transmission attempts to shift and your under BOOST? I have the automatic transmission TCU and the wires from it to the tranny, I just don't have a plug to use from the harness to the TCU. My setup is this, 1993 Nissan hardbody/D21 1986 Nissan 300zx Turbo 1996 Infinity 4 Speed Automatic transmission Toyota Supra Intercooler HKS BOV, (leaks after 10PSI) Stock Rear Stock Engine, I have done nothing else to it, that is it. Basicly took the engine out of the car, put it in the truck, intercooled it, and turned up the boost to 10 PSI. It weighs 2863 LBS with the driver. Runs 13's in the quarter mile with 17 inch street tires, would run 12's with the transmission problem fixed. Anyway I found this site that makes an aftermarket TCU for nissan transmissions, that you can control with a laptop computer, and all you need to send it is a signal from your TPS and a signal from you Tach. Does anyone know anything about this company. They are called Powertrain control solutions. this is their link, check em out http://www.powertraincontrolsolutions.com/content-4.html THANKS FOR YOUR HELP
  16. Yeah, I traced where the crossover pipe was hitting, cut it with a sawzaw, beat it with a sledge hammer, then after the engine fit, I fiberglassed the cut. It was a pain in the but. Glad you like my truck bro, not everybody does.
  17. This has got to be the best place to ask this question. If you don't already know, im one of the odd balls on this site, i race a 93 hardbody with an 86 300zx vg30et engine in it. The 86 300zx I stole the engine from was a manual transmission, so was my truck. Now i've had to switch to an automatic tranny and I have a problem. I dont have the electronics in my wiring harness to properly run it. It works, dont get me wrong, but not like it should. The torque convertor doesn't lock up untill like 3500 or something, and first to second is electronic, i think. anyway i think it starts out in second gear. It still gets me down the track in the 13's at 100 mph, but i know i should be in the 12's. Besides it heats the tranny up somethin awful and because of this problem I will now be purchasing my 3rd automatic transmission. Is there any way to rig, splice, change the wiring in the factory manual 300zx harness to make an automatic tranny work? Do I need to switch ECU's? Is there anyway around this. An older transmission perhaps?HELP!!!
  18. I took a a lot of pics, The pictures on my site work, you have to have macromedia flash installed to see them, if the video on the front page is working, then pictures on the pic page should be, However if you have a slow connection it may take a while to load. If you can't get them working on your machine, you can see the truck on the nissan minis website as well, there are more pics there. http://www.nissanminis.org/index.php?option=com_gallery2&Itemid=37&g2_itemId=1457
  19. The turbo is in its stock location.I cut off the mount on the driverside of the truck, took the driverside 300zx mount and moved it up to the next set of holes on the block closest to the timing chain cover.took the passanger side 300zx mount, flipped it upside sown and welded it to the frame where it matched up with the driverside mount, and bolted the two together. The passanger side truck mount will work fine. The turbo will lay about a half of an inch from the frame. The wastegate will get in the way, so i just took mine off and relocated it on the driverside fenderwell. it works fine.
  20. O.K. So i race this little truck with an intercooled vg30et at 10 psi of boost. I run the exhaust wide open, nothing but the elbow with a piece of exhaust pipe running behind the driverside front wheel(to keep the excess heat off the tranny). Would it run faster with some type of exhaust system, will it hurt the engine in the long run running it like this? Any help will be appreciated. Thanx. http://home.comcast.net/~savage1023/ http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2358115
