So i got myself a 76 280z that needed restoration .... My plans are as follows
- Get the stock motor running so i can determine that it is indeed a good motor (done)
- Do full service and parts replacement and compression test on stock motor (done)
- Pull stock engine and replace with a twin turbo Rb20
So far so good. I got the stock motor running like a charm today and did a compression test with yielded between 135 and 142 across the board. To get to this point on the stock motor i have done the following
- Replaced the ENTIRE fuel setup ( injectors, lines, hoses, filter, pump)
- Replaced most EFI harness connectors and re taped the harness (its like new now )
- Replaced all spark plugs, wires and cap .
- Installed new pick up coil in the distributor
- flushed and filler the radiator
- changed oil and filter
- Installed new starter
Thats about it ..... now that she runs well i am comfortable enough to pull the motor and either store it for a future project or sell it if someone else needs it. However if i sold it i would have to sell everything together (motor, trans, efi harness, ecu ... the whole lot)
Anyway heres a little video i made this afternoon
