  1. For some reason I can not find where to become a donating member so I can post a for sale ad. Can anyone point me in the right direcrion?
  2. Im making my donation to hybridz tomorrow and gettting pictures of evreything and the whole setup carbs and engine and turbo trans will be for sale.
  3. I had the mounting surface shaved where the flywheel meets
  4. 310 z where do you live? I'm in Columbus Ohio and we have ridiculously weird weather like it was 20 on Monday and snow and 79 today and in the summer does the same kinda changes.. is that gonna be a pain to tune the carbs with?
  5. And as I stated no the motor is not together the crank is at the shop and so is the block
  6. I was realistically looking for advice on up keep with the motor and if it's a high maintenance motor.. and if I were to sell what would it bring price wise since I don't see many for sale.. the crank being shorter is so you no longer have to run a diesel flywheel and can run a normal one
  7. What would the motor be worth if I decided to sell? 5k with carbs?
  8. What would the motor be worth if I decided to sell? 5k with carbs?
  9. But maintenance on a stroker? And I feel like as my first carb setup this is going to a bit of a undertaking
  10. I'm in the middle of putting my 76 280z together and I am going back and forth on if I want sell my 3.1L L seires and my triple weber 45's and my turbo t5 trans... The motor is in peices currently to have machine work done to the crank (shortened 6mm, polished, balanced, and a heat/ chemical treatment, and the woodruf key slot modifed) the block still needs board out to 89mm but that will be happening shortly. I do have the z store's discontinued stroker kit (never installed) and three dual barrell weber sidedrafts carbs with manifold and linkage. I have run in to the problem of if I want to run a carb setup or if I want to have this motor in my car being that it is a work of art motor that I am going to do a ton of road trips, track days, and general hard driving. I feel like this motor setup is getting harder to come by and could be better put to use in someone elses baby. I guess Im looking for opinoins? and what I should be looking to sell it for?
  11. so these are the number I believe my setup results in based on what I believe I have.. Block Height= 207.87 mm Deck Height= 0.63 mm Chamber Volume= 44.6 cc Cylinder Volume= 516.35 cc Gasket Volume= 13.01 cc Dish Volume= 2.8 cc Deck Volume= -3.92 cc Uncompressed Volume= 576.76 cc Compressed Volume= 56.49 cc Compression ratio= 10.21:1 Total displacement= 3098.13 cc
  12. N42 head and N42 block what head gasket would be recommend? I was planning on using a 2mm headgasket
  13. So I need to measure with my calipers from the center of the pin hole to the top of the piston and the over all diameter of the piston to get the proper I.D.? I have a diesel crank and a full l28 and rods just making sure these are proper pistons lol
  14. I recently got a 3.1L stroker kit and need help identifying which pistons I got with my rods and crank.. any ideas?
  15. I know that the rb would be much faster by far, where my mind is would be weekend cruiser, vintage racing, cruise with my 72 corolla race car, and my friends early 80's 911.. Servicing the rb is a pain and Expensive and the motor seems like over kill. i only got the rb for my 240sx that i sold

  17. So Im sitting here looking at my 76' and the series 2 RB25DET with rb25 trans and other goodies next to it torn. Should I go forward with my swap plan or sell it off and go 3.0L with triple carbs? Opinions? Am insane to think someone would be willing to trade my setup for there 3.0L?
  18. I am swapping a 83 l28et and a BW t5 in to my 76 280z and having drive shaft problems. I have the r200 that comes in the car, the r200 from a 280zx (bought the engine, trans, driveshaft,an diff with axles) and its drive shaft and a r180 from a 280zx as well is there any chance of mixing that combo in to the car to have it driving? Would I be able to just pull the diff flange of the front of the zx's r200 and put it on the z's r200 so that the drive shaft I have from the l28et/t5 combo will fit
  19. Thank you guys very much so what is the final vote I need to get my car back on the road to get to school in this bs winter weather should I reuse the main studs or the head studs?
  20. cheaper on ebay thanks for the post tho. I was thinking about buying main studs and not the head studs, and just use the oem ones I just took out. Then as soon as I can afford head studs buy those and swap them one at a time with out taking off the head so not to mess with the head gasket.
  21. Putting my winter l28et with a 50trim t3/t4 running 10psi beater back together and just put in new bearings, arp rod bolts, arp head studs, and new gaskets all in it because it spun some bearings so its all ready to go back together but I am out of money and I know I should replace the main studs but am out of money is it strictly necessary to replace or can I reuse the oem ones??
