anybody Re-use the gasket who running over 20 psi.....? I thinking I might go down to the 1mm since my old head was milled down pretty heavy, I assume to bump up the compression and give it some responce, but the previous owner had a few head problems, as did I

make sure your pipes are fit together realy well, It will be easier to weld and will look way better in the end.... Alot of nice welds are a product of good fitting....
..I do alot of stainless welding and have never used the solar flux, I used it in school and it worked ok. When I tig exhaust pipes I usually run a low heat not to burn throght, and run a little filler to give it a small cap and make it stronger....I think you may be able to do the same with wire....mabe try running a high argon mix or staight argon and turning up the volts, just to kind of spay the wire on......then just pulse the trigger letting the weld cool in between pulses, if that makes any sense... But the best thing to do is to try a couple things and see what works for you.....

What shop are you using?
I was thinking Kersley in Langley city...seeing how its a block away from my shop, might be worth a shot...
...And I was trying to call you a while back, but the pager # I had no longer worked....I was looking for a head, but just ended up using one from another motor around the shop

This head is for a turbo car, so does the port velosity matter that much or do I want as much air as possible getting in there.....also have a cam, but the specs are unknown..Looking for big #'s hopefully...

So then I should hopefully expect to see those # from my local shop..
...I was thinking of going oversized valve as well, if I can find some bigger ones that will work in time. Havent done too much research on the benefits of the big valves tho. Trying to dig around on the site and see what I can turn up, or somebody running a similar setup.

I will be running as much boost as the turbo will make (GT35R) on a new head.... so I want it to match up proper...the last time it was together I was running about 13 psi, but I had a problem with a pinhole in a repaired head and it was blowing coolant out of the overflow under boost....

I dont mind risking it....its just the 3rd time I have taken off the head in 3 months.....ANd this time I want it not to come off again....But at the same time the last time I ordered a head gasket from nissan it took 6 months, no joke.... But I was olso kind of thinking of using the 1mm one instead....

Got a 2mm nissan comp gasket, ran the car mabe 20 min, then had to take off the head and get a new one.... I was wondering if it would be recomended to re-use the head gasket for a high boost application...

I sent my p90 to get flow tested......just wondering if anyone knows what they typically do stock, and what I can expect after its been ported....assuming its been done properly?

You can weld stainless with a mild steel wire. The problem is you loose the properties of the stainless, so if corosion resistance is what your looking for its not a good idea.....I assume its for exhaust piping, if so it will hold for sure as long as fusion is all your looking for......Otherwise get a stainless wire, wich could be expensive, possibly hard to find in smaller dia, also could be hard to weld on thinner material.....If you go the route of stainless wire, use a 75% argon 25% CO2 gas and it should weld nicely......I dont think a back purge would be needed for exhaust piping....

the head is still at the machine shop...ill let you knopw what it comes back....mabe even see you out at the track.
