Hello I hope this isnt a stupid question but im trying to build a sbc on a budget so i bought a short block and later bought some vortex heads and im planing on running a carb with it. I know edlebrock sells a intake that you can use with vortex heads and some kid at school today (im in a tech college for automotive) told me that they make intakes for ls1 heads that you can use a carb with. my question is should i keep using the vortex heads with a carb or should i try to pick up some ls1 heads and run those with a carb? is there any difference between the two if your not running efi? or have i fallen victim to a snake oil salemen?

whats everyone's opinions on glowshift gauges ive only ever bought one and did get to use it long before my old truck went bye bye lol

Hello Im still kinda new here, but i was wondering if anyone knows what kind of gauges these are. They are from a car featured on speedhunters i saw a while back and i love the way they look, here the link to post: http://speedhunters.com/archive/2011/10/21/car-feature-gt-gt-star-road-s30-fairlady-z.aspx. If you guys dont know what those exact ones are does anyone know of any similar ones, anything kinda of like glowshift gauges. I really like the light up gauges like that and would love to find some for my z. Extra points if you can get a black/bright green combo like the glowshifts. Sorry if this has been asked before, im not to sure of what i should search for on the forums for it.

Thanks for the input stony, probably going to stick with the SBC swap for now then. id love to get an rb into it but ill just have to wait till a get a career job or see how much money i can get from finical aid next year lol i wanna get my car up and going so i can enjoy it no matter what engines in it.

Hello guys this is my first post here and like i said i have a few questions, I have 75 280z which the PO had a 383 in it, im posting here because i would like to put an RB in it. So my first question would be has anyone on here gone from a SBC to RB before in a S30? How much money do you guys think that it would be or would it be better to save this idea for a different datsun? The SBC that was in the car before was a carb engine and its basically ready to have a SBC dropped right back into it i.e. it has the throttle cable in place, it has the custom driveshaft, etc. I mainly want to do this swap cause i have seen how awesome RB25 and 26s are. And my other question is whats the different between a RB25 and RB26? is it a 25 thats bored out or is it a completely different engine? And if this is in the wrong spot sorry and feel free to move it to what forum it needs to be in.
