  1. the booster never lost vacuum, the charge pipe came off the turbo. i have already put in a new booster, i just want it to be reliable.(brakes are important). i just don't understand why the booster broke if the check valve was in working order. now when it broke the car went from 11psi(160kpa) to vacuum in a split second, was that to much for the check valve or was the booster just old? sorry i miss read the tread i thought it was the booster not the master for the upgrade. i do fleet maintenance and i am a full time student (i work during the day and for free at night in school, so when i have time to read about upgrades i am half asleep) thank you for the response!
  2. I have a 1973 240zt. I have just recently turbocharged my z and the charge pipe come unglued. when the pipe come off the brake booster quit working. i realize that the booster could have just been old but the check valve is new. is there a different check valve or booster that i need to use? i have been reading treads and they say to use the 15/16 booster out of a 79, will this booster work with turbocharging? mods to z 83 280zxt engine (p90a) t3t4 turbo (cheap) 0280150400 injectors 45lb npr intercooler ngk wideband megasqiurt ecu stag 1 centerforce turbo clutch r180 4.11 rear end (at its limit) toyo proxies tires (fun) to list a few. and any help would be great.

  5. well I wired in the msd and had no spark at all. Here is what I did, I took off the ignition box off the dizzy and run the mag pick up from the msd. purple and green to the red and green on the dizzy.(purple to red and green to green) for the coil I ran the orange to the + side and black to the - side of the coil. the big red wire to battery + and the big black wire to -. o and the 12v red wire to the positive side of the coil ans that didnt work. I also tryed putting the 12v on the + side of the battery and still didnt work. and the only original wires that i take off of the coil went to the igition box on the dizzy. I also have a dual points dizzy but i dont want to use it I.
  6. Well, I have been trying to find out how to wire up the msd 6al to my 240z and I am having problems. I have been searching threads and no luck there all turbo, I can't find any that have the same set-up as me if someone can help please do. I have a turbo dizzy (dont know what year.) accel super coil and many other mods carbs ect... but the coil has the stock wiring and the newer dizzy runs into the harness and into the coil. This is where I draw a blank, do I run the msd into the ignition box on the dizzy or strait to the dizzy it self? Can anyone help?
  7. ok the clutch is going out on my 73 240z. i have a centerforce stage one for a 81 280zx 2+2 and i also wanted to put a five speed trany in. i have a non-turbo five speed(unknown year) and a turbo five speed 83 280zxt. what will work and what would be the best to use? any help will be great!
  8. just wanted to say that i love hybridz, so much info wow! well the z that i am working on is a 82 280zx with a turbo motor (p90a 83) with 4900k on the motor and trany. the only problem with the car is it is running n/a not turbo. i already have 440 supra injuctors, turbo distrubuter and 40,000volt coil, turbo 5speed, down pipe, and some ok rims, o and a turbo hood and 300zx power seats. out of money! so the z will have to wait for the rest of the parts.

    I finally boosted the z and wow!! Its running about 11psi.
