  1. Hey Zach, where did you find it? I need some too. Thanks, Brett
  2. Once again ZFAN is right - do a search and you'll find out why a double pumper seems to get more nods, as vacuum secondaries were made to function in a car 1,000 lbs heavier they lead to their own drawbacks. Another way around the vacuum secondaries is buying a used carter competition series - identical to the edelbrock but can be had with manual secondaries(and a cheap price on ebay). With the rpm intake and 650 double pumper I can use either the triangular foam air cleaner or a 14" x 3" with drop-down neck. If you need more room go with a stealth ram. Good luck! Brett
  3. I agree with ZFAN, I've got the rpm intake and heads but edelbrock can keep their cam. With your setup I'd recommend the comp cams XE274H - 230/236, 110 LS, great cam and way more streetable. This cam will pull hard to 6,000rpm and is well suited to what you've got. I've seen many of these run well over 400 hp in a 350. My 327 has the comp cams XE268H (which in a 327 acts similar to a 274 in driveability) and I am nothing but happy with the instant-power this cam provides. Just my opinion, good luck! Here's some comp cam dyno sheets: Cam Options Brett
  4. I'm interested in halfshafts for my '71 w/R200 - keep us posted. Thanks, Brett
  5. Go to ebay, search 'hood scoop' Brett
  6. You can also get rubber fender welt(?) in rolls - I've seen it on ZG flares and on vw bajas. I'll save you some time because I bolted mine up and you will have gaps. I'd avoid bondo or fiberglass as it will stress and crack. The rubber runs between the fender and the flares, if you've seen the old supras with flares you know what I'm talking about. I still need to find it myself, shouldn't be too hard to find. I saw a picture of a green Z a while ago with it and they looked really clean. Good luck, Heavy Z
  7. Yeah I remember this picture, it gave me the creeps. Eyes cold and dead, like a great white shark. The boy is stressed, too. Heavy Z
  8. Reminds me of the craziness that happened in South America last summer - Argentinian newspapers were busy with that sort of stuff. Here's one example: Source El Diario del Sur de Cordoba-Villa Maria July 9, 2002 Cows Found Inside a Water Tank The Strange Case of Suco Investigated by El Diario On the last Friday of June 2002, an event of truly strange characteristics took place in a field of the locality of Suco, located to the west of Rio Cuarto, very near the border with San Luis Province. In the aforementioned Cordoban locality, a well-known livestock producer respected by all for his responsibility and honesty, found 19 dead animals within an Australian-type water tank (translators note: steel-sided, sheet metal tank with a conical cap). Nine of the bovines were dead, according to subsequent medical-veterinarian examinations due to asphyxiation through immersion. The rest were alive, but affected by the low temperatures and near dead due to freezing. The news not only spread like wildfire throughout the area: it was confirmed by police officials of Regional Unit 7, headquartered at Rio Cuarto, who took over the investigation of the case employing personnel from the Sampacho District Sheriff's Office, located 50 kilometers west of Rio Cuarto on National Hwy. 8. What no one could explain is how the 19 animals could have entered the enormous water tank, bearing in mind that they first had to cross an electric drover (sic), then a 1.50 meter tall fence, and finally, "jump" over the tank wall.
  9. The GT6 weighs 1,900 lbs stock, so a v8 would really get that thing moving. He does say that the front suspension is adjustable, although I'd be tempted to try some ZG flares on that car to better squeeze the meats up 'n under. I owned one of these up until about 2 years ago - made a bundle off of it because it only had 23,000 miles and was in great shape. Despite this condition, it was still nicknamed the "rolling grave" due to the handling characteristics of the transverse rear leaf spring. This one looks like the rear suspension is completely different, though. I give this car points for uniqueness - it looks like a clown car with lots of attitude. Heavy Z
  10. Oops, use this link instead, you'll see more pics: GT6 V8
  11. Nice looking, any more pics or a webpage? I don't follow the 4-wheel motorcycle idea, seems to me it could potentially be dangerous going through windy roads. Brett
  12. Come to think of it, I did leave the hose unattached to the vacuum canister (is that what the black coffee can-looking thing is that's got a hose running to the back of the carb?) would that do it? I can't check because it caught fire in between my posts and now my engine bay is a winter wonderland thanks to a fire extinguisher. Any cleanup suggestions? Thanks, Brett
  13. Hello all, I just had my Holley 650 double pumper re-jetted to my specs - went from 67/73 to 64/71, also the power valve was changed. It now is running so horrible that it wants to die under 2,000 rpm and the gas petal has to be feathered or out it goes. Any ideas? Thanks, Brett
  14. I've got a 327 in my Z that is flexing my '85 T5 to the max, the '85 was a non-WC T5 so I'd say goodbye unless you'll be running 300 or so horsepower. I'm looking at a WC T5 from this place, the gearing in 1st and 5th is better than the '85, and with a countergear stabilizer from gearzone this tranny should be much stronger than a NWC T5. Brett
  15. Some people take longer to come around, glad to see you jump right in - you'll be glad you did once you're done. Use the search fuction as most questions have come up before. As to your diff - it's a one-legged 3.54 R200. LSD didn't come out until '87. Good luck! Heavy Z
  16. Yeah, he's lucky that boat planted itself against that sign and didn't tumble through the water into a million pieces...
  17. The clip is just a test, only 36 barrels and limited ammo to 180 rounds. They're talking about being able to attach these underneath UCAV's with enough ammo and barrels to lay down a swath of grenades a football field wide, 2 miles long. Heavy Z
  18. Thazzalotta clams, but no $22k new car could match that purple rain... Heavy Z
  19. Nothing to do with Z's but worth a look if you're interested in where military technology is headed. Big file(14 meg) but quite a show, demonstrated at different firing rates. Metal Storm If you want to goto the Metal Storm web page, you can check out all sorts of computer animation clips on how this system could be used in military applications, law enforcement, firefighting... 20. Let's bring this back down to earth: In the quarter mile, Batman would take Speed Racer thanks to the F-104 jet engine he's sitting on in the Bat-ride. from here, it's downhill fast for the superhero. Speed Racer would kick his ass in a chase through town. He would also win in a race through a forrest/jungle thanks to the front blades. He would leave batman behind over any obstacle or fence with one jump (nya-nya-nya sound inserted here). The Mach 5 was fully-functional under water, and always had enough air to figure a way out of trouble. The Mach 5 also had SUV-type tire covers for off-road rally action at the touch of a button. Batman would own the salt flats and the high desert, speed's got everywhere else. Whereas the Batmobile was played up as the ultimate transport for the hero(who usually would park it, get out, and do the beating with his own two fists), the Mach 5 WAS the show, Speed was just the lucky sap that got to drive it. Just my two cents, Heavy Z
  21. Nice conversion, that engine is aesthetically pleasing and would show well in many applications, somewhere there is a Z in desperate need of that six.... Brett
  22. Wow Jens, that 55 rocks. Heavy Z
