Ferrari replica built on a vette chasis. Look under McBurrnie or Ferrari daytona spyder in a online search....

try 3/8 if they dont have that you can always take and layer 1/8 it to make 3/8. I wouldn't go 1/2 as I thought 5/16 was over kill the factory brackets are only 1/8....

You need some really good well placed media attention. To lock someone up for 4 months with only one ilegal weapon is a little rough. I would really like to see a TV article especially here in Texas on what they are doing in your case. You need to get some media attention and political backing are you an NRA member?? If so you need them to write an article on your case. Having grown up on the west coast there are several people who have more weapons than I can count. I have a personal freind who had at last count 175 different rifles not counting the hand guns. All of them legally obtained. How is the state saying you violated the law??? Should have all of these been registered somewere??? I have several rifles that there is no record of me buying and I dont plan on there being. Good luck with the legal part... Ray Ps How did they find out you had them in the first place????? -
My white 72 240 with a 280zx long block and weber downdrafts woud consistantly get 24-28 on the highway and I never saw less than 18 in town. Look at your distributor and double check the jets in the webers. Mine were way fat when I got it.. dont know why... BTW this was with a late model 5 speed and a 3.54 rear end. Good luck...

Now I have had Z's for about 12 years and I have driven Fiero's I was never impressed in any way by the Fiero in any way shape or form. About the only good thing about them is they make a great kit car when you stretch the chasis...I also had a 91 Z28 and compared to even a stock Z it was a dog. To each his own I guess but maybe someone should take this moron for a ride and show him what a V8 Z is all about....

After going to school and working for several years, ASE and Nissan Procap cert. I stopped working on cars and equipment and went to work for Union Pacific Railroad. Now I manage a section of Houston rail traffic. I have all the unloading for Ford auto's in the city of Houston so I actually ended up working around cars again. Also I have went back to school again and am working on a business degree.

define alot of noise ???? The stock pumps do make some noise but if if it is more than a hum I would look for another pump. One of the best solutions I have seen latly on modified cars is to do what the MFG's have done and put the pump in the tank. Makes it a lot quieter and depending on what type of FI you are running the pumps are a lot cheaper than a stand alone type pump. I have seen several of the GM TBI pumps used on carb settups with the really good bypass type regulator or fuel log. They put out 8-12psi and will flow some fuel. Good luck......

I have one you can have.... If you can find a way to get it to Dallas from Houston.....BTW when you get one make a strap ala JTR to keep it from over extending...... Been there broke that.... in the mean time make a spacer between the bottom of the rubber and the mount then take a small ratchet strap and strap the nose of the diff to the crossmember....this will get you by without that thump you are hearing how and get the pinion back close to where it was.....

Welcome to Nascar. Get a new sponsor just change the body and the motor the rest of the car is the same....

Just a few thoughts depending on what you need. I live in TEXAS so a truck is a necessity..I also tend to pick bullit proof drivetrains as opposed to sports cars... great beater 89-93 dodge 3/4ton with a cummings... you can haul parts for the z and they get 20-25mpg on deisel. The only problem is it is a dodge and it will rattle and squeek.. but a great beater... On the other side honda civic hatchback with a integra motor comes to mind for the cheep and sick...30+mpg and a real sleaper especially when turbo'd Also depending on how much money you what to spend the Lexus sc300's are dropping like a rock. I recently saw one for under 5k and it was clean. Find one with some body damage and 5speed. bullit proof and they get mid 20's for milage on the highway...and it is a smooth ride.. depends on how many miles you drive a day but older toyota land cruizers AKA FJ60 the iron pigs. are great beaters.. they take a lot of abuse and are relatively cheep compared to the later ones.... BTW my beater is a 90 chevy blazer with 3/4 ton axels and over 270K on the chasis. Still looks good and gets 15mpg consistantly. Real tires and lockers and it goes anywhere..... There are probibly a million other really good beaters.

Take a look arround on the internet there are alot of these running arround. Most use the 2.3L ford turbo's and a carb bonnet with a holley. You can also use turbos off other things. Take a look at JYT or junk yard turbos in Yahoo groups.... they have a lot of good info.. Good luck anything is possible with a little work and a plan... Ray

A 96 T5 would be world class but depending on what it was off of it may be hard to adapt. The GM T5 for 96 only came behind the V6 and it has a different bolt pattern on the front and the input shaft is longer. The ford verison is the same way only came behind the 6 and didn't adapt to anything else. Now if you have an older case and input shaft you can swap the guts and everything should fit but as for a direct swap you need an older trans...

This swap has been done.. the longer rods in the 265 motor are to compensate for the shorter stroke of the motor. The piston if I remember correctly has the same pin height in the 265 motor as the 350. Take a look at the motor chevy built for their late model show 302 camaro's. they did one with the 265 long rods, crank and stock 350 pistons and the lt4 heads which is esentially what you are doing.. If you have a good machine shop who can get the rods off the pistons in the 5.7 motor without messing them up you should be able to peice the two together and make a 302 with very little money. Also the motors that chevy built used the GM HOT roller and made 425hr on 302cid so there is a lot of potential in the combination. Especially if you are putting it in a Z as their will be less low end torque and the car should be easier to launch at the strip..... Good luck If you have someone with a Chevy High Performance subscripion they shoud have the article it was done in 1997 just before they went to the LS~1....You can always call the magizine I am sure they keep back issues on file and will fax or email you the aritice....

It is interesting how this forum has attracted some wonderful people. The one thing I am still amazed about is how what ever you want to do with a z is ok. If I wanted to paint one pink and put a big block in a it thats ok ( no offence Ron). If someone wants to put a mopar, ford, nissan, toyota, even a rotary eveyone is possitive and tries to be helpful. Where else can you find that. Then the information that we have been able to share is crazy. I wish I had been able to sit here and read before I built my first Z car would have saved alot of money and it would have been alot better car. Thank God for the founders of this site. You make it great to enjoy Z cars without the BS.... Later Ray

The motor was only pumping about 10 lbs of boost and real conservative 750hp. The real problem was the thing launced so hard that all the trans fluid in the 4l60e was running to the back of the pan and uncovering the pickup causing it not to want to shift into second gear.. I wish I was so lucky... 750hp in a light all wheel drive package.. can you say Skyline killer..... Franklin the swap was a LS1 race block out to 7 liters then twin turboed. God it must be nice to have money.... If you are looking there are alot of s10 swaps out there. one of the easiest is the lt1 out of the camaros. Look arround there are quite a few down here and they are quick. If they have some rear suspension work done they hook hard too......
